    The Executive Office of the President, Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) are accepting applications for Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program grants. By statute, the DFC Support Program has two goals: Establish and strengthen collaboration among communities, public and private non-profit agencies, as well as federal, state, local, and tribal governments to support the efforts of community coalitions working to prevent and reduce substance abuse among youth*. Reduce substance abuse among youth and, over time, reduce substance abuse among adults by addressing the factors in a community that increase the risk of substance abuse and promoting the factors that minimize the risk of substance abuse.

Maine Cancer Foundation Invites Applications for Projects to Reduce Tobacco Use | RFPs ... - 0 views

    Lung cancer is responsible for more deaths in Maine than any other cancer, and the state's lung cancer rates are consistently higher than the national average. One in five Maine residents use tobacco, with half identifying as former or current cigarette smokers. With the goal of reducing tobacco use and ultimately reducing the burden of lung cancer in the state, the Maine Cancer Foundation is accepting proposals for projects that seek to reduce the use of tobacco in Maine. Through the program, grants of up to $50,000 a year for up to two years will be awarded in support of new or existing projects. Eligible projects include tobacco cessation for adults; advocacy or policy projects related to tobacco use and/or second-hand smoke; projects that address Maine populations disproportionately impacted by tobacco; and a combination of these.     Society's overwhelming reliance on this complex cyberspace, however, has exposed its fragility and vulnerabilities that defy existing cyber-defense measures; corporations, agencies, national infrastructure and individuals continue to suffer cyber-attacks. Achieving a truly secure cyberspace requires addressing both challenging scientific and engineering problems involving many components of a system, and vulnerabilities that stem from human behaviors and choices. Examining the fundamentals of security and privacy as a multidisciplinary subject can lead to fundamentally new ways to design, build and operate cyber systems, protect existing infrastructure, and motivate and educate individuals about cybersecurity. The Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace (SaTC) program welcomes proposals that address cybersecurity and privacy, and draw on expertise in one or more of these areas: computing, communication and information sciences; engineering; economics; education; mathematics; statistics; and social and behavioral sciences. Proposals that advance the field of cybersecurity and privacy within a single discipline or interdisciplinary efforts that span multiple disciplines are both encouraged.
