FY18 PRARP NIRA Overarching Challenges: This FY18 PRARP NIRA funding opportunity requires applications to address one or more of the following FY18 PRARP NIRA Overarching Challenges: Paucity of Research Resources: The paucity of research resources to examine the interrelationship between TBI and subsequent AD/ADRD for the military, Veteran, and civilian communities Paucity of Clinical Studies: The paucity of clinical studies to examine the interrelationship between TBI and subsequent AD/ADRD for the military, Veteran, and civilian communities. This includes research into risk factors that may predispose individuals to AD/ADRD subsequent to TBI. Quality of Life: The need for technologies, assessments, interventions, or devices to benefit individuals living with the common symptoms or deficits of TBI and AD/ADRD. Caregiver Support: The need for technologies, assessments, interventions, or devices with the goal of enhancing the lives of caregivers for individuals living with the common symptoms or deficits of TBI and AD/ADRD Epidemiology: The paucity of epidemiological research to examine the interrelationship between TBI and subsequent AD/ADRD for the military, Veteran, and civilian communities. This includes research into risk factors that may predispose individuals to AD/ADRD subsequent to TBI.

Autism Speaks invites Treatment Research Grant applications to conduct innovative studies of novel treatments and interventions for people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) throughout the life span. These may include medical approaches such as pharmacological treatments and complementary and alternative forms of health care, as well as behavioral and/or psychosocial interventions. Successful applications will focus on evaluation of the efficacy, effectiveness or other therapeutic benefits of the targeted intervention.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) solicits Edward R. Roybal Centers for Translation Research in the Behavioral and Social Sciences of Aging. The purpose of the Roybal Centers is to develop behavioral interventions that improve the health and well-being of people as they are aging and the capacity of institutions to adapt to societal aging. Roybal Centers will conduct Stage 0 through IV pilot studies in accordance with the multidirectional, translational NIH Stage Model, to produce potent and implementable principle-driven behavioral interventions.

This FOA invites applications from qualified institutions to create a Roybal Center Coordinating Center (CC), serving the needs of the Roybal Centers for Translational Research on Aging program as well as the Roybal Centers for Translational Research on Dementia Care Provider Support program. The Roybal Coordinating Center will serve as a hub for the Roybal Center grant program. Roybal Center programs conduct translational in the behavioral and social sciences of aging, structured in accordance with the NIH Stage Model. Roybal Center program resources are intended for pilot and preliminary translational, multi-directional research at Stages 0 through IV of the behavioral intervention development pipeline with the goal of creating principle-driven interventions that improve the lives of mid-life and older people and the capacity of institutions to adapt to societal aging. The Roybal Coordinating Center will facilitate and coordinate trans-Roybal activities. The Center will work closely with the NIA Program Officer and, in coordination with all Roybal sites, will be responsive to requests generated by key Roybal site personnel, NIA, NIH, the scientific community, and the general public.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) solicits Edward R. Roybal Centers for translational intervention development research for Alzheimers Disease and Alzheimers Disease related dementias care provider support. The purpose of the Roybal Centers is to develop behavioral interventions that improve the health, well-being and/or capacity of individuals and/or systems that provide care to persons with AD-ADRD. Roybal Centers will conduct Stage 0 through IV pilot studies in accordance with the multidirectional, translational NIH Stage Model, to produce potent and implementable principle-driven behavioral interventions.

Two-year grants of up to $75,000 will be awarded to implement children's mental health evidence-based practices in the region. In 2018, preference will be given in support of programs to advance access to effective prevention, screening, early identification, and mental health treatment interventions for children and young people up to the age of 21. Priority will be given to developmental screening, assessment, and mental health treatment models in early childhood settings for children; pediatric screening, assessment, diagnosis, and behavioral health treatment models in school-based clinics and primary care settings; screening, assessment, and behavioral health treatment models in the child welfare and foster care systems; collaborative court diversion programs designed to divert children and young people with mental health disorders or co-occurring mental health/substance abuse disorders from the corrections systems into treatment and support services; and/or best practice psychotherapy behavioral health treatment programs.

This program's focus is to ensure students fulfill the training requirements needed to obtain a DATA waiver to prescribe MAT in office-based settings. The desired outcomes include: 1) an increase in the number of individuals completing the training requirements for the DATA waiver, 2) an increase the number of individuals with a DATA waiver, and 3) an ultimate increase in those prescribing

Violence is a serious, yet preventable, public health problem. Sexual violence (SV) and Intimate partner violence (IPV) affects millions of women, men, and children. In the United States, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience contact sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner with a negative impact from this or other forms of violence in the relationship such as injury, fear, concern for safety, or needing services (Smith et al, 2017). Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS) data show many victims of IPV began experiencing these forms of violence prior to adulthood (Smith, et al, 2017). In 2013, Congress reauthorized the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), originally passed in 1994 to address sexual violence (SV). This legislation established CDC's Rape Prevention and Education (RPE) program, which funds state health departments to work on SV prevention activities. CDC has funded the Domestic Violence Prevention Enhancements and Leadership Through Alliances (DELTA) Program since 2002, authorized by the Family Violence and Prevention Services Act (FVPSA). The DELTA program funds State Domestic Violence Coalitions (SDVCs) to work on IPV prevention activities.

To advance this mission, the foundation is inviting applications through its Non-Profit Core Mission Program, which supports small community health organizations in regional and rural areas located outside the Twin Cities metro area. Grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded to support health-related programming that is core to the organization's nonprofit mission.

In line with the GoSA She Conquers strategy/campaign, Implementation of targeted combination prevention solutions and approaches for (AGYW, young Men and adult women) vulnerable high risk priority populations in workplace, schools and community. Provide evidence based interventions including demand creation for uptake of HTS, PrEP, VMMC, condom promotion and distribution, risk reduction, delaying sexual debut for (9-14 year old), family planning, STI, education and linkages to care and treatment. Behavioral interventions include school based (in &out of school), social mobilization and gender norms change and GBV prevention and parenting programs.

NIDILRR proposes to fund two Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects of three years each to conduct research on opioid use disorder among people with disabilities. Each grant will be funded up to $500,000. Topic of interest include: 1) Systematic review of existing literature on opioid-use disorder and people with disabilities; 2) Prevalence estimates and patterns of opioid use disorder treatment for people with disabilities; 3) Factors associated with increased risk for opioid use disorder; 4) Factors associated with improved access to treatment for opioid use disorder; 5) Interventions that contribute to improved outcomes; and 6) Effects of government policies and programs on access to treatment for people with disabilities who have opioid-use disorders.

Our five-year research agenda aims to build public knowledge about the arts' contributions to individuals and society. Through the NEA Research Labs ("Research Labs"), we seek to extend this agenda and its impact by cultivating a series of transdisciplinary research partnerships, grounded in the social and behavioral sciences, to produce and report empirical insights about the arts for the benefit of arts and non-arts sectors alike. Each Research Lab will define its own agenda, conduct a research program to implement that agenda, and prepare reports that will contribute substantively to a wider understanding of one of three areas of special interest to the NEA: 1. The Arts, Health, and Social/Emotional Well-Being a. Therapeutic Approaches and Benefits b. Non-Therapeutic Approaches and Benefits 2. The Arts, Creativity, Cognition, and Learning 3. The Arts, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation We anticipate that a sustained engagement with these topic areas, and with the corresponding research questions we frame below, will have distinctive benefits not only for the arts community, but also for sectors such as healthcare, education, and business or management.

If the proposed project does not address any of the FY18 ARP Clinical Translational Research Award Areas of Interest, the application should describe how the project will nevertheless address a critical need of the ASD community. Outcomes from studies funded by this award are anticipated to provide scientific rationale for subsequent development of larger, efficacy-based clinical trials of interventions that will transform ASD clinical care.

The purpose of the Mentored Research Scientist Career Development Award in Tobacco Regulatory Research (K01) is to provide support and protected time (three, four, or five years) for an intensive, supervised career development experience in biomedical, behavioral, and social science research that will inform the development and evaluation of regulations on tobacco product manufacturing, distribution, and marketing and that will lead to research independence. Research projects must address the research priorities related to the regulatory authority of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) as mandated by the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (FSPTCA), Public Law 111-31. The awards under this FOA will be administered by NIH using funds made available through the CTP and the FSPTCA (P.L. 111-31).

The purpose of the Pathway to Independence Award in Tobacco Regulatory Research (K99/R00) is to increase and maintain a strong cohort of new and talented independent investigators conducting research that will inform the development and evaluation of regulations on tobacco product manufacturing, distribution, and marketing.  This program is designed to facilitate a timely transition of outstanding postdoctoral researchers with a research and/or clinical doctorate degree from mentored, postdoctoral research positions to independent, tenure-track or equivalent faculty positions. This program will provide independent NIH research support during this transition in order to help awardees launch competitive, independent research careers.

The goals of this initiative are to discover allelic variants, genomic alterations, and functional changes associated with addictive behaviors in non-human animals through systems studies that employ genetic and genomics strategies. We also encourage proposals that take genetic and/or genomics approaches to integrate data, delineate gene networks, and uncover the function of known or newly discovered genetic or epigenetic variants.

To accomplish the stated over-arching goal, this FOA will support creative educational activities with a primary focus on Courses for Skills Development and Research Experiences. The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement is to encourage applications for the initiation or continuation of nationally-available neuroscience research education programs that will significantly advance the mission of NINDS. The primary focus of programs submitted under this FOA should be on intensive hands-on experience that will provide research experience, an in depth understanding of techniques and analytic approaches and expertise that is only possible with a nationally-organized program. Within the context of gaining expertise primarily through hands-on experience, programs may include immersive coursework and expert discussion when appropriate. Programs appropriate for this FOA must include participants from a nationally recruited cohort, selected through an application process by a well-balanced leadership committee.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) encourages formative research, intervention development, and pilot-testing of interventions. Primary scientific areas of focus include the feasibility, tolerability, acceptability and safety of novel or adapted interventions that target HIV prevention, treatment or services research. For the purposes of this FOA, "intervention" may include behavioral, social, or structural approaches, as well as combination biomedical and behavioral approaches that prevent the acquisition and transmission of HIV infection, or improve clinical outcomes for persons who are HIV infected.
