ACL aims to compete these 10 grants via two options (both with 36-month grant periods): (A) Sustainable Systems Grants: approximately six grants of $400,000 to $600,00 focused on developing integrated, sustainable systems for delivering falls prevention programs; (B) Capacity-Building Grants: approximately four grants of $50,000 to $150,000 to build capacity to introduce and deliver falls prevention programs within underserved areas and/or populations.

ACL intends to compete these 10 grants via two options (both with 36-month grant periods): (A) Sustainable Systems Grants: approximately six grants of $500,000 to $900,000 focused on developing integrated, sustainable systems for delivering evidence-based chronic disease self-management education and self-management support programs. (B) Capacity-Building Grants: approximately four grants of $50,000 to $150,000 to build capacity to introduce and deliver evidence-based chronic disease self-management education and self-management support programs within underserved areas and/or populations.

The Safeway Foundation, the philanthropic arm of grocery-retailer Safeway, supports nonprofit organizations whose mission is aligned with the company's four priority areas: hunger relief, education, health and human services, and/or assisting people with disabilities. Hunger Relief: In-kind and cash grants are awarded in support of foodbanks and hunger relief organizations. Education: Grants are awarded in support of youth development organizations as well as a broad range of afterschool and physical education programs. Health and Human Services: Grants are awarded to organizations that are engaged in health research and nutritional programs, including medical research and programs that improve the lives of people living with cancer and neuromuscular diseases. Assisting People with Disabilities: Grants are awarded in support of community-based employment and job coaching organizations focused on serving people with disabilities. Grant amounts vary for organizations whose work is national in scope, but a first-time funded organization will typically receive a grant ranging between $10,000 and $25,000.

Demonstration project grants will fund single HIAs to inform a specific proposed policy, program, plan, or project. The Health Impact Project will award up to six demonstration project grants for up to $100,000 each and. provide training and technical assistance to awardees throughout the length of each demonstration project grant. Applicants need not have prior HIA experience; preference will go to applicants proposing innovative topics for HIAs or proposing work in states and regions that have seen relatively little HIA activity to date. This includes U.S. territories and Alabama, Arkansas, the District of Columbia, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.  HIA program grants will support organizations with prior HIA experience to conduct one or more new HIAs and to implement a plan that establishes the relationships, systems, and funding mechanisms needed to maintain a stable HIA program beyond the conclusion of the grant period. The Health Impact Project will fund up to five program grants for up to $250,000 each.

Applicants for the funds may be students or faculty. The project, program, or entrepreneurial idea must be created by, led by or benefit women. Grants are awarded in values of $2500 to $20,000. While we prefer the base grant to be $5,000, we are considering a limited number of $2500 which will be required to show high impact. These applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The grants must be submitted online via the link below and must include a 2-minute video. Applicants will be narrowed to a pool of 10-15 finalists by our M.I.A.M.I. WOMEN Grants Committee. This committee will review applications; contact applicants if additional information is required, and present the finalists to the M.I.A.M.I. WOMEN Steering Committee and Development Staff. Grant deadline for this year is Feb. 9, 2018. These finalists will perform in a fast-pitch style Hawk Tank event on April 11, 2018. Finalists will be offered fast-pitch training courtesy of the Farmers School of Business - school of Entrepreneurship, and will receive coaching and support. They will then pitch their idea in 5 minutes or less on April 11, 2018 at the event. Giving Circle members are the voters who will determine winners. Absentee voters will be given the option to vote online. Winners will be announced that night or the next day at the Symposium, to be determined.

The overall goal is to provide the initial resources to support a larger grant application. Priority will be given to graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and junior faculty. Senior researchers new to the area will also be considered.

Promising Innovations, an initiative of Kendal Charitable Funds, supports advances in serving older adults that positively impact the lives of elders in our society. The 2019 Promising Innovations grant program is seeking proposals from existing nonprofit consortiums that are working to address the needs of individuals 60 or older, aging in place in an urban setting, who are living at or below the federal poverty line. (For this program, urban area refers to towns, cities, and suburbs with a population of a least 5,000.) Grants of up to $50,000 for a two-year period will be provided. Letters of intent are due May 17, 2019; invited proposals must be submitted by August 2, 2019. Since 1985, the John A. Hartford Foundation authorized nearly $425 million in grants to improve the geriatric skills of current and future health professionals and redesign health care delivery. Foundation grants currently support over 100 programs that span the spectrum of academic and clinical training. These programs increase the nation's capacity and ability to serve older adults by engaging doctors, nurses, and social workers at all the stages of their formation and professional growth. In order to maximize the Foundation's impact on the health and the well-being of the nation's elders, grants are made in two priority areas. Academic Geriatrics and Training The Foundation supports efforts in selected academic medical centers and other health settings to strengthen the geriatric training of America 's physicians, nurses and social workers. Integrating and Improving Services The Foundation supports a limited number of sustainable efforts to improve and integrate the system of services needed by elders and their effectiveness. The emphasis is on nationally replicable models.

The purpose of the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects and Centers Program is to plan and conduct research, demonstration projects, training, and related activities, including international activities, to develop methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technology that maximize the full inclusion and integration into society, employment, independent living, family support, and economic and social self-sufficiency of individuals with disabilities, especially individuals with the most severe disabilities, and to improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (Rehabilitation Act). Rehabilitation Research Training Centers The purpose of the RRTCs, which are funded through the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects and Centers Program, is to achieve the goals of, and improve the effectiveness of, services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act through advanced research, training, technical assistance, and dissemination activities in general problem areas, as specified by NIDRR. These activities are designed to benefit rehabilitation service providers, individuals with disabilities, and the family members or other authorized representatives of individuals with disabilities. The Center for Retirement Research at Boston College works to promote research on retirement issues, transmit new findings to a broad audience, help train new scholars, and expand access to valuable data resources. The center is accepting applications for two funding opportunities: The Steven H. Sandell Grant Program provides funding opportunities for scholars from all academic disciplines and senior scholars working in a new area to pursue cutting-edge projects having to do with retirement income and disability insurance issues. Junior scholars within the first ten years of their academic career and tenured scholars entering a new field are encouraged to submit a proposal. The principal investigator and co-principal investigator, if applicable, are required to have a Ph.D. or comparable professional certification. Scholars must be employed full-time at an academic or research institution. Grants are not intended to fund dissertation research. Up to five grants of $45,000 will be awarded for projects of one year. The Dissertation Fellowship Program in Retirement Income and Disability Insurance Research provides funding opportunities for doctoral candidates to pursue cutting-edge research on retirement issues. Applicants are required to be enrolled in a qualified doctoral program at a United States university; have completed all coursework for a Ph.D. by the time funding starts; and have a dissertation advisor and/or committee. Doctoral candidates from all academic disciplines are encouraged to submit a proposal. Up to seven fellowships of $28,000 will be awarded. Priority research areas for both programs include Social Security and disability insurance, macroeconomic analyses of Social Security, wealth and retirement income, program interactions, international research, and demographic research.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) solicits Research and Development Center (P30) grant applications in the areas of demography and economics of aging, including relevant interdisciplinary areas rooted in population-based social science research. Center grant applications must include two mandatory Cores and may choose among four optional Cores.

The purpose of the Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA) program is to stimulate research in educational institutions that provide baccalaureate or advanced degrees for a significant number of the Nation's research scientists, but that have not been major recipients of NIH support. AREA grants create opportunities for scientists and institutions, otherwise unlikely to participate extensively in NIH research programs, to contribute to the Nation's biomedical and behavioral research effort. AREA grants are intended to support small-scale research projects proposed by faculty members of eligible, domestic institutions, to expose students to meritorious research projects, and to strengthen the research environment of the applicant institution.

The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) is seeking small grant (R03) applications to stimulate and facilitate the entry of promising new investigators into research on arthritis and musculoskeletal and skin diseases and injuries. This FOA will provide support for pilot research that is likely to lead to a subsequent individual research project grant (R01).

The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) is pleased to offer a limited number of conference grants. These grants will be used to subsidize the cost of attendance for individuals to attend either CUR Dialogues 2015: Climbing the Ladder to Funding Success: Diverse Sources, Diverse Pathways or Undergraduate Research Programs: Building, Enhancing, Sustaining. Nominees are asked to provide contact and demographic information, a statement of expenses, a statement describing financial need, and a statement on expected outcomes from attending the conference. Historically under-represented groups and first-time attendees will be given priority. The review committee will work to ensure awardees represent a diverse subset of the applicants, specifically across discipline/CUR Division and geographic location. Awardees will receive the conference grant as a rebate after their confirmed participation in the conference, and the submission of reimbursement paperwork.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) issued by the Fogarty International Center (FIC) seeks to stimulate innovative ideas and impactful research to better understand the complexities around developing appropriate approaches for effective diagnosis, prevention, therapeutic interventions and integrated clinical care for HIV-associated non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). Specifically, this initiative will support research in the following areas: a) Basic sciences to address etiopathogenesis of NCDs in Persons Living with HIV (PLWH); b) Aging process in PLWH; c) Diagnostics tools for early detection of NCDs in PLWH; d) Therapeutic interventions to explore optimal drug regimens for PLWH with NCDs; e) Behavioral studies for better quality of life of PLWH with NCDs; and f) Clinical studies for better patient centered care for PLWH with NCDs. The R21 grant mechanism is intended to encourage exploratory/developmental research by providing support for the early and conceptual stages of project development and assessing feasibility of the proposed studies (https://grants.nih.gov/grants/funding/r21.htm ). It is hoped that this preliminary research will lay the foundation for larger studies that can lead to applications to other organizations or NIH institutes that support HIV-associated NCD research.

This FY 2014 grant announcement focuses on national programs strategically targeted to address community and law enforcement needs. Specifically, this grant announcement focuses on developing community partnerships to assist law enforcement in locating and working with missing persons with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. This initiative is funded under the Missing Alzheimer's Disease Patient Assistance Program.

Research Grants are awarded twice annually (in May and December) and constitute the majority of the Foundation's grant program. The Foundation funds research related specifically to human origins.
