Glogster is an online FREE interactive poster tool. Ability to add hyperlinked video, insert digital images and voice (mp3)--lots of ways to personalize. Great potential (e.g., introduce self in course, individual book reports, group projects). EASY to use.

I just found this this week!! I love it. I think I might use it for our WWII unit, or disUtopian book reports, or as a culminating activity for my postcards from the past/postcard to the future workshop! So many uses!!

graphical knowldege engine; might be useful in classroom to compare books, etc. More recently I tried inserting term (community) and was impressed with the automatically generated web/semantic map.

Good slideshare on researching--helpful for students, I suspect.

Free tools to detect plagiarism--might want to introduce to students so they see the function. Helpful to teachers as well.

Good information about podcasting.

CmapTools (free, of course) allow for the developing of concept maps and you can link to images, videos, documents, etc. Not quite as flexible as Inspiration (which is my favorite, but it costs money), but a good option.

VoiceThread is a collaborative tool that allows collaboration online. Responses may take the form of video, audio, doodle (drawing) or typing) and also phone (scheduled call which will record). Many ways to accommodate learners. Highly recommend. Free, but I upgraded to Pro version.

Horizon Report 2011..not surprisingly electronic books and mobile devices are featured prominently in what's on the immediate horizon. Recommend highly--best indication of what's coming within 1 year and r years.

Good look at use of social media by students...some of the conclusions from correlations are worrisome...still important information.

Blerp has some potential for the classroom. Students can discuss a webpage--unique url, if you want. Allows collaboration and annotation.
