Voki-classroom--new features. but avatar creation with voice remains the same. Teachers can manages students (no longer have to join individually). Just announced (5/31/11), though I am unable to determine the cost. Keep an eye on this.

NY Times Article on the value of technology in schools. Since digital literacy is critical for participation in 21st Century, I am not sure I buy their argument regarding the tie in to stagnant scores--assessments don't really do a good job of measuring digital literacy (thought Donald Leu and colleagues have certainly made strides in teh area). Nevertheless, a good piece to read.

TED 2013 talk about 'Building a School in the Cloud.' He argues, quite effectively, that school as they currently exist are outdated. Worth a listen.

SoundCloud--idea for teacher usage. Have students record podcast and then you, as the teacher can comment. Looks quite interesting.

Wallwisher has become Padlet. Has many of the collaborative features as before--add images, video, audio and collaborate.

Google app scripts have the potential to provide meaningful feedback to students with in reasonable time frames. Worth a look.
