"Social media is growing at explosive rates. Just take a glance at Gary's Social Media Count which includes recent statistics from January 2011. Be certain to click on the 'social', 'mobile', 'games', and 'heritage' buttons at the top of the page to get the full impact."
As usual, in order to make this list, a site had to be:
* accessible to English Language Learners and non-tech savvy users.
* free-of-charge.
* appropriate for classroom use.
* completely browser-based with no download required.
"The Project
The Vann Molyvann Project aims to call attention to one of the most important collections of modern architecture in the developing world; to rigorously document it; and to inspire a new generation of architects--American and Cambodian--to create a contemporary architecture that responds to the demands of context, climate and culture.
In October of 2010, a collection of drawings, models and photographs prepared by a team of Cambodian and American architects and students was presented at the French Cultural Centre in Phnom Penh. The materials were then displayed at the Phnom Penh International Airport in the Summer of 2011. We are now in the process of arranging for the exhibition to travel abroad. "
"I have to tell you that it was a tough call to make these decisions, especially when we're talking every teacher no matter what grade level or subject, but I hope that you find a couple of gems to put away in your virtual treasure box. You may have others you'd like to add to the list. Please post them in the comments for all of us to explore."
2011 is the fourth year I've been using an iPod Touch in my classroom. My students enjoy using these hand held devices and they can be used to enhance student learning in many different areas.
