iPaddiction: Student-Led Conferences: Parents & Students Engaged! - 0 views

  •
The parents and students were engaged because the students really knew how to maneuver the iPad to demonstrate all of the work that they completed. I could sense that students were taking pride in showing their online professional portfolio, creations, and tweets. I am also thrilled that the professional blogs are a year-to-date body of work. We didn't just show them tests as was in the past, but all the learning experiences that have occurred along the journey. Students had an agenda that they were to follow and parents totally wanted to hear all about it. Some parents and students were present for over a half hour!

Teach Science and Math - 0 views

Are you searching for a way to share documents, presentations, slideshows, or a series of photos or images with your students? Then Voice Thread is the free Web 2.0 tool for you and your students (teachers can register for a free education account). Voice Thread allows you and your students to add audio, video, and text as part of conversations concerning science or math content. Comments can be added using a pre-recorded audio file, microphone, call from a phone, or webcam and microphone. A Voice Thread allows group conversations to be collected and shared in one place, from anywhere in the world. This is great when your class is collaborating on a project with students in another time zone or other locations around the world.

I love using online tools and apps which allow students to customise and develop their creativity. There are many avatar makers and creature creators available. I have updated this presentation to include a few new ones I have found. I have also included a few ideas on how to use them in the classroom.

The Innovative Educator: 8 Real Ways Facebook Enriched Ms. Schoening's First Grade Class - 0 views

This might be a repost... But it's worth it This was a presentation from a first grade teacher named Erin Schoening who was using Facebook with her students, their families, and other targeted members in the school community. In a world where there is such a fear of using Facebook in education even for high school, I wondered how she could succeed in using this as a tool with 1st graders????
