joelkoh on 19 Aug 09Reverend Ming Yi was questioned on a couple of points: 1. Ming Yi could not account for $50 000 in Ren Ci's account. He claims that he was misled by his personal aide Raymond Yeung to believe that the money was used to buy buddha statutes. 2. Ming Yi was questioned on his pay doubling within the last three years. 3. Ming Yi's employment of Yeung although he did not have an employment pass. Ethical question If Ming Yi was not a monk and was working as a top executive in a private firm, would the increase of his salary be questioned or regarded as an 'unethical?' Problem Who is to determine if a person working in a charitable organization is to take a lower salary or not be active in furthering one's own personal gain?
