John is right. It's an awesome location, so beautiful. Last year when I was at the Writers Retreat, I did manage to find a place on the top of a mountain that had cell reception. That being said, it's still a great place to hear from God! Hope to see you there. And welcome to The High Calling!

I'm so glad you're diving in...the determination you show in your post will help you succeed. I truly believe the ONLY difference between published and unpublished writers (in any genre) is persistence. So many of the details can be taught, but a calling/passion is there or it's not. Talent will only take you so far. So go for it! :)

I love your cover letter! :) And I'm glad you joined the High Calling Blogs network. We have all denominations and ages of writers, including young Episopalians...and MOST of them have a sense of humor. A few are big gamers, too. So I think you'll find some kindred spirits. Welcome!

I absolutely love this: "I am never going to be unfailingly loving. But I am unfailingly loved. And maybe that's enough." As a mom, wife, reader, writer, and bookaholic, I found a lot to love in your blog. And I'm really glad you've joined our High Calling Network. Let us know how we can serve you.

This is such a well-written, evocative post. I love the detail. You really "took me there." I grew up in a non-liturgical tradition but as I mature (ahem...get older), I've begun to really appreciate the symbolism and ceremony which other denominations use in their worship. I think it's beautiful, and as a writer, I like the symbolism. So, thanks! And welcome to the High Calling! We're glad to have you aboard, and look forward to many more interactions.

"Michelle, swing dance--how fun! :) I'm also glad you made a new move and joined our network at THC. You have such an eclectic background and an obvious gift for words. I can't wait to know you better. I hope you'll "sit down" at THC, make yourself comfortable, and dig in. There's lots of meat, lots of laughs, and lots of love to go around."
