The Inside Out Life: Church work - 0 views

My husband and I have been involved in ministry (in some context) for most of our adult lives, and I so agree that there must be BOTH being and doing in effective ministry. I've enjoyed reading through your thought-provoking (and challenging) posts! Thanks for joining the High Calling network, and let us as editors know if we can be of any help or encouragement.

So true, so true. I've been on much the same journey this year and God has proved Himself faithful time and time again. It's so easy to listen to the enemy instead of our Best Friend…and His Word. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and how God's been teaching you. Many people are hurting and in distress right now and it's great to find a ministry that's dedicated to showing them Jesus' light. Oh, and welcome to HCB-I look forward to seeing more of your excellent writing there.

Caroline, I love this! I'm trying to live in the moment, too-embracing every bush that's afire with God. And I'm so, so glad you've joined The High Calling blog network. I can't wait to read more of your excellent writing. I have two boys, adore bacon and avocados (sometimes, on the same sandwich!) and love mission work (it's how I met my husband). Your ministry sounds amazing, and I can't wait to hear more about it as you share your stories and experiences with our bloggers.

My family and I have experienced the same thing this year as we stepped out in faith to move closer to family and pursue a ministry God was calling my husband to. It's been difficult, but I've learned how FAITHFUL He is. Every. Single. Moment. I'm glad you've joined The High Calling network and look forward to reading more about your journey.

Generally speaking, I'm a morning person. I seem to hit a slump in mid-afternoon and can be found by 8PM, half asleep on the sofa if we're all watching TV.  Love the post here. I was just reading Matthew 24 this week, as I prepared for a women's ministry meeting on Disaster Preparedness. By the way, welcome to The High Calling!

Janet, first, welcome to The High Calling. I'm so glad you've joined our blog network. I love the look, writing and theme of your site and will look forward to reading more of it in the days/weeks to come. Second, how fun to read your story! My hubby and I-we've been married 16 years in July-met in a touring group (a 2-year commitment, after which I almost had to be committed!) of young adults, dated on the road, and got married right after the tour ended. We, too, were poor graduate student newlyweds with a roach-infested apt. and a grocery budget that had a huge line item for "PRAY!" I'd love to have coffee sometime and swap ministry-life stories, but since I'm in TX and you're in CA, I guess we'll have to settle for visiting one another's blogs. :) Have a great weekend, and again, thanks for joining THC!

I love that you're using a media like film to evangelize! I'm also grateful that you've joined The High Calling. I hope you'll be encouraged in your ministry, uplifted by the community, and provoked to think and respond by your fellow bloggers.

Chris, it was good to see your name pop up in the new sites for THC! :) Congrats on your new business. And you're so right-now is a terrific time to be in ministry. We have more tools at our disposal than ever before. I'm glad there are people like you out there, teaching (and showing) people how to use them effectively.

Wow. I love this! Thanks for being willing to hug a smelly drunk in His name. You convicted and challenged me today. I work in refugee resettlement and our building houses ministries/outreaches to homeless folks, as well. I don't usually "see Jesus" in them--but I will more often now. :)

I've done some work in prison ministry and know about the recidivism rate, but hadn't heard the statistics you mention here. Staggering! But even more so? How many live in prison without even realizing it. Good questions for thought here.  And welcome to The High Calling!

Don't think this one got bookmarked due to a tricky URL situation, thankfully demystified by Chris.
