Faith That Sticks: How to discover your divine pathway to God - 1 views

New "faith" blog. My comment, awaiting moderation: Reminds me very much of that song, "There's a God shaped hole in all of us, and a restless heart (or is it soul?) is searching..." Great to connect via High Calling Blogs!

I love Spurgeon's mind…thanks for sharing this passage. So many times I pray and then keep worrying, which is exactly the OPPOSITE of what the Bible teaches. Congrats on your new blog, and thanks for joining (or re-joining) High Calling Blogs. We look forward to seeing you around the network!

Are Nachos the Secret to a Happy Marriage? - 0 views

Janet, first, welcome to The High Calling. I'm so glad you've joined our blog network. I love the look, writing and theme of your site and will look forward to reading more of it in the days/weeks to come. Second, how fun to read your story! My hubby and I-we've been married 16 years in July-met in a touring group (a 2-year commitment, after which I almost had to be committed!) of young adults, dated on the road, and got married right after the tour ended. We, too, were poor graduate student newlyweds with a roach-infested apt. and a grocery budget that had a huge line item for "PRAY!" I'd love to have coffee sometime and swap ministry-life stories, but since I'm in TX and you're in CA, I guess we'll have to settle for visiting one another's blogs. :) Have a great weekend, and again, thanks for joining THC!

Jolene, welcome to The High Calling blog network. I am enjoying your posts immensely. I especially love reading about the specific ways God has provided for you--in your husband, with your new home, and through homeschooling. I know your blog will be an encouragement to so many women in our network. I'm really glad you've joined!

Embrace the Struggle: If nobody read along - 1 views

I LOVE that quote (thanks for sharing it!) and totally understand the struggle that blogging brings. Jesus' view of success is totally opposite of the world's, isn't it? That's what makes it so hard--and helps us rely on Him. Thanks for joining the High Calling network. I pray we can encourage you in your goals, and hopefully--as a bonus--bring new readers to your blog. Welcome!

Parenting Comparison Trap - Beholding Glory - 0 views

We must have been thinking alike this week--I posted on MY blog about raising strong-willed kids. It's terrifying, frustrating, exhilarating, and exhausting. Thanks for being real about it. I read a few of "those" books when my oldest was young, and just about threw one in particular (the one you quoted) in the trash. Instead, I gave it back to the person who gave it to me--sweetly saying, "Thanks." And then I did what worked for us...after finding out what it was. (LOL) God is right there with us when we struggle as parents, and I'm glad you're reminding our fellow moms-in-the-trenches of that. Welcome to THC! I can't wait to read more of your blog. And congrats on your Bible study, too. It looks wonderful!
