Not only has the class been very helpful, but the ION Web page gives me much information on sample rubrics, and many other ideas on instructional strategies as I continue to enhance my teaching abilities in my online classes.

I hope this is working. I've bookmarked this to my diigo but it doesn't seem to link to my groups. Is there something I need to do to link it to my groups?

This article is about corporate learning but is applicable to learning in general. The author is making the case that "we are clearly on the edge of a mobile learning revolution".

Given the harsh criticisms that social networks commonly face when it comes to their use by teenagers, I thought it would be useful to post this newspaper piece that presents the opposite argument: Social media might be usually considered to be just places of the lurking danger of real-life social isolation (among more gruesome dangers in this context), but they could also be seen as places where a teenager can be inventive, discover aptitudes and of course develop his/her social skills. Also, it discusses research which shows that teenagers are more often than not well aware of the dangers that lie behind the (ab)use of social media.

Hmmm, should I share this with my teenage son?

As you navigate around the Web, it's so easy to get pulled into rabbit holes of irrelevance. The Internet is filled with sites that offer nothing of value for college students. But if you know where to look, there are quite a few sites that are legitimately useful.

While several federal laws address web accessibility, the most widely adopted and comprehensive technical standards have emerged not from a law, but from the W3C Web Content Accessibility Group. The WCAG standard is the most detailed, up-to-date guideline for creating accessible web content.

This is a rather lengthy guidebook that I came across while researching this week's topic. It touches on many of the issues we've been dealing with in our course, but also includes tips and strategies for blended courses. I thought it'd be a good resource for anyone interested, as it summarises key points on the use of technology in higher education.

Some of you may already be familiar with this website/tool, but Podbean is worth exploring if you're interested in getting your feet wet with getting your podcasts on the web. Podbean helps you "upload, publish, manage, and promote" your podcasts.

I love this blog because they have a pretty quick (but helpful!) introduction to all the trendy tech tools with examples and explanations about how to use them in classrooms and they update their posts fairly open!

This is a free event coming up on the June 24th in Srpingfield. I don't know if I can go yet, but I thought I would share that we are not the only ones looking at technology's implications in teaching. I don't know any of the speakers.

Article points out how students view copying in the Internet age. As educators, I believe we should be aware of attitudes towards plagiarism not to condone it but to help students learn.

This one doesn't have anything to do with class, but if you are introducing your class to technology it is a great place to start. My granddaughter's junior high tech class uses it. I was introduced to it when one of our faculty used it to make me a graduation gift. He put my thesis into the web site, printed it out and framed it. I loved the gift.

Not class related but an important message for all of us.
