Students are on top of texting and it's great to communicate with them, but giving out ones cell phone number isn't the best idea. This app solves the problem, text go out, but your number stays hidden.
As my first bookmark I wanted to use something I found on Twitter at Edudemic. This infograf is a great visual reminder of the many changes in education, ourselves and our careers.
This article does not directly address the educational use of social media, but the key points are important reminders that social media activity is always evolving. I was particularly struck by the emphasis on using video.
This is a great reminder that tech tools need to be accessible to everyone. The bonus advantage to accessibility is that students with mobile devices have a better chance of taking part, now, too.

Khan academy has free videos on Youtube on a variety of anatomy and physiology subjects and pathophysiology. It's a great way to review the basics with the nursing students with high quality videos/lectures from Khan academy. It's free and I get a lot of positive feedback from the students.
Loretta-Thanks for the reminder about using Khan Academy videos in nursing courses and that they are free. I have to admit I forgot about this site. I too often use videos from You Tube (Nurse Sarah) to help students reinforce their learning.
