Hello, my name is Marlia and I am a francophone artist from Quebec, Canada. I'm currently enrolled in the School of Visual Arts in New York and I'm working on a project called "Collage of Marlia". Greetings to the family! After making the decision to fulfil my current 4-month-long Indian/Asian/NZ tour without any other instrument but my voice, this is what I could come up with during my very-much-indeed musical stay in Pai, Thailand, right after the PanSiam gathering 2019. In one of our days there with Leon Christian Karmameleon, between open mics, music performances, singing workshops, private vocal lessons, bonfire circlesinging, spontaneous street/stage improvising, scooter riding and hot spring indulging, we met Tommaso Caenazzo (the owner of this handpan @432hz) at our favourite chai shop and thought we could work a bit on 11/8, plus instrument plus voice! There is a much better video version with regards to the quality of music & sound, however this one is hilarious - at least to me! - so I decided to post this one. At one of our legendary 2-day rehearsals (rehearse the evening of one day, have dinner together, hang out and sleep, wake up, have breakfast together, rehearse until afternoon then continue with the rest of our lives !! marathon) in Athens, Greece. The "Life of a Rose" is a song dedicated to Mary Magdalene. It was channeled by Marlia Coeur inspired by the red heart spot she found one day in Tegalalang area in Bali, Indonesia. She is live looping with her #godin guitar and #boss #RC202 #electroharmonix #tcelectronics #freeze guitar effects pedals and recording live with #recorder Zoom H6. Everything is powered by a power bank (no electricity socket in the middle of Bali jungle!) She is wearing an in-ear piece because there is no speaker, this is the only way she can hear the effex pedals, the voice's reverb and the loop station to be able to sync along. "Life of a Rose" is the first channelled song/prayer of a new series of in-situ improvisations (part of Marlia's Earth Gridding New Earth project). If you don't have a clue what that is, please look up and read more about leylines and Earth portals. There are high vibrational healing places around the Earth which work together as energetic vortexes, forming a grid around the planet to keep everything on Earth in balance. This Bali spot gave Marlia a transmission from Mary Magdalene and the power of Grace through the Life of a Rose. The lyrics which came through are: "The Life of a Rose emanates Grace from your Heart Maria" The song celebrates the Divine Feminine within all of us. The rose carries the meaning of purity, passion, transmutation, completion, of consummate achievement and perfection in addition to being an ancient symbol of joy. Moments like this are meant to be shared and remembered. On 16/6/2022 we were appointed by PuraVida Festival (Kaya, Yoi, Julia, Walker and myself Marlia) to hold a cacao ceremony circle (one of the biggest ones of approx. 400 people) with sacred songs as part of the opening/welcoming first night of the festival. This is what came through after opening the 4 cardinal directions, calling in Mother Earth, Father Sky, Spirits of this Land, Guardians, Masters and Spirit of Cacao.
