This is a simple, yet effective free online interactive software for ear training. It offers practice tools in: intervals, chords, scales, chord progressions, perfect pitch, scale degrees (functional), intervals in context, an melodic dictation.

This website is perfect for listening exercises. The interval practice was very appropriate and the difficulty can even be adjusted based on the level of the student. I would like to use this site with my after-school chorus.

The San Francisco Kids website offers students many musical activities from listening, performing, composing and even conducting. I think that my elementary music students would love this site, and that it would also work well on the SMARTboard in class. I think the visuals would keep students engaged, and excited about music learning.

Audacity is a great program for recording and editing music. I have personally used the site to record my All-State auditions, as well as plan to use it to record my ensemble rehearsals. The program is easy to use, and a wonderful tool for any music educator.

The purpose of this site is to help students improve their knowledge of music theory and keyboard skills. I have used this site when I was teaching middle school choir and band. Dallas Symphony Orchestra for Kids website features games, listening activities, family programs and teacher lesson plan resources. It is a place where young children can be introduced to the instruments and inner workings of an orchestra. There is an activity called Flat Beethoven, which is like Flat Stanley, where the children send Beethoven in the mail to different places and he has "adventures' with the people where ever he goes. Hosts of Flat Beethoven write the children back and send him to another place. FUN!

Eric Litwin is an author, musician and producer who specializes in children's music. He is one of my favorite artists for kids. He has many educational resources and a curriculum for preschool children. His books featuring Pete the Cat are awesome and appear regularly in my music room! Eric Litwin also does performances in schools and communities and has visited my school for his "Earth Shaking, CD Making" project where my students learned songs and recorded them to make their own CD.
