This is an excellent resource for piano teachers. There are articles about books to read, piano pedagogy, studio management, and other pertinent topics for piano teachers. This would be a very useful resource for teachers of all experience levels to learn more about how to fine tune their teaching.

Music a la Abbott is a blog containing free Kodaly based lesson plans for K-5 general music as well as elementary drum, bell and vocal ensembles. She also has a link to her store on www.teacherspayteachers.com. Her website has a page dedicated to the design of her classroom, as well as her upcoming workshops around the United States. She also has an easy to use label feature so you can find blog posts relating to a specific topic such a 1st grade or assessments.

This podcast has a technology focus and puts out weekly episodes. There are over 73 episodes with topics that vary from apps to websites to equipment.

The Music Tech Teacher Podcast hosted by Katie Wardrobe has become one of my favorite podcasts. I am teaching music technology for the first time this year and various episodes regarding productivity for music teachers and using technology such as iPads in the classroom are extremely helpful.

This is a podcast for music technology teachers, which is good for anyone who is looking to get into the study of technology when it comes to music. The podcast are discussions of many topics, to give tips on how how to be come better at the specific topic.

SmartMusic has interactive, web-based editions of many popular instrumental, band, chorus, and orchestra method books, as well as a massive collection of sheet music. Students can listen, loop, record and submit pieces they are working on. A neat feature of SmartMusic is that students can click on a single note and hear how it is supposed to sound, and how to finger that note on their instrument. Students can adjust tempo, play with a metronome, use a tuner to check pitch, and more. A paid subscription allows teachers to create online classrooms for assigning and assessing work, and have access to the entire SmartMusic catalog.

SmartMusic is music learning software for music teachers and students. It makes music learning easy and fun. Students can continue their learning outside school. teachers can also assess students outside the school wall. Smart music is good for rehearsals because a student can rehearse at home when the teacher is listening in and correcting him/her from anywhere else. It is easy to access and a good resource for music classes.

The purpose of the resource is for student and teacher practice/classroom tools. The content included in this source is a subscription to a web-based service that allows students and educators access to sight-reading material, repertoire accompaniments, and method books. Could be useful for encouraging student practice

Blog with ideas and resources for you instrumental music classes. Of course has ideas on how to utilize SmartMusic, but also has many ideas on how to switch up rehearsals and keep students engaged.

Yousician is a great resource for learning the guitar, bass, ukelele, or piano. Students can watch video tutorials and move up when they pass levels while playing songs with fun background music. The program/app provides instant feedback on pitch and rhythm. Teachers can use Yousician with a class on a Smart Board. In a group setting, Yousician cannot provide feedback, but it does provide lesson plans and even has a SongCreator. It is free to use with time limits on feedback, or can be upgraded to premium for $9.99/person with unlimited feedback. Students can sign up for their own account and Teachers can track their progress through a Teacher account. It is fun, engaging, and provides a well rounded education in these instruments. There are knowledge tracks for each instrument which cover music theory and ear training.

NAfME, among the world's largest arts education organizations, is the only association that addresses all aspects of music education.

The Cool Cat Teacher Blog is written maintained by educator, Vicki Davis. Her mission is to keep teachers inspired and motivated. This is not specifically a music education resource, but the information contained on the blog can be helpful for teachers of any subject area. I am specifically interested in the aspect of Social Media and the Classroom.

Great teacher resources to start a successful school year; for first year teachers to veteran teachers.

This is a blog full of resources for piano teachers. Susan Paradis blogs about everything from games and worksheets for students to teaching techniques. She offers free resources and has a store. This can be used by piano teachers to enhance their creativity in lesson planning.

Elementary music teacher with Orff training describes rules and expectations for her classroom. Website also includes website ideas and links to teachers pay teachers to look at visuals. 

Auralia5 and Musition5 are very good soft wares for a music classroom. Auralia is for ear training, while Musition is for music theory. These softwares enhance a student's musicianship through very interesting activities of listening, composing, notating music, and sight reading/playing. A school has to purchase the software, though it is cloud based. The teacher adds students to different classes in the groups so that when assignments are set, they are easily submitted to the class where they belong. Teachers can create and assign worksheets, tests, and courses, and grade his/her students online as well. Tracking allows the Teachers to run exams with high quality content that students love. Reports are also created in the software and parents can access their children's performance. Auralia and Musition are perfect for students of all ages and abilities. Auralia has a clean, easy to use interface designed to keep students focused on their essential ear training task.

Sound trap is an online Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) that one can use to create loops and tracks online. One doesn't need to download any software to install sound trap, it is typically online and is a very good resource for teaching creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking (4 Cs). I like sound trap because it enables students and teachers to continue work anywhere any time (in and outside the classroom). teachers can easily add projects and invite students to work on the project any time anywhere. The fact that one can invite another person to work on the same project and/or even record a track together is mesmerizing. With sound trap, it is easy to record any instrument, download a track, and best of all, you can record using a microphone and/or use the free loops, MIDI, and effects that come with the software. A school has to purchase the software and add students to start using it. However, the software has a one month free trial which teachers can try out with their students before purchasing.

This website has information on Orff-Schulwerk workshops, certification courses, as well as access to resources and video demonstrations with a membership. This is a great website for general music teachers, as well as any secondary teacher wishing to incorporate movement and improvisation into their classroom. I highly recommend all general music teachers get involved in their local Orff chapter.

This is the professional organization that represents and advocates for the use of Kodaly concepts in music classrooms. Typically General Music and choir but may include instrumental pedagogy.

This website is a must use for any general music or choral teacher. It contains information regarding conferences and certification courses, as well as resources. Kodaly is a wonderful method with an emphasis on singing, music literacy, and folk songs. In the Kodaly method, teachers learn to prepare, present and practice concepts with students. teachers also discover the importance of developing their own musicianship

Midnight Music is designed to simply technology for music teachers. The YouTube channel provides tips, tutorials and lessons and advice. With new videos posted each week there is an abundance of information available to any music teachers. This site could be useful with navigating which software to use for certain projects or discovering what technologies are available. The channel's owner is not based in Australia and may make some references to grade level that are not familiar to teachers in other countries.

This website provides a multitude of tools for music teachers, among other subjects. The website contains lesson plans and teaching strategies for grades K-12. There are lessons on world music, on instruments (such as building instruments), as well as the history of musical genres. The free version is limited, but the premium version is fairly inexpensive.

Resource for UF Masters of Music Education. This site is helpful in planning lessons for application of new ideas. I love that it has something to offer every teacher from grades K-12.

I use this website sometimes to help out with some of my lesson plans if I'm in need of worksheets to help back up the topic that is chosen for that particular week. This is good for any teacher because it provides a variety of different worksheets for many topics.
