Welcome to the Web site for A Student's Online Guide to History Reference Sources. Adapted from the appendixes in A Student's Guide to History, Eleventh Edition, this site guides you to some of the best tools available for the most common research areas.

The digital collections of the Library of Congress contain a wide variety of material related to World War I, including photographs, documents, newspapers, films, sheet music, and sound recordings. This guide compiles links to World War I resources throughout the Library of Congress Web site. In addition, this guide provides links to external Web sites focusing on World War I and a bibliography containing selections for both general and younger readers

The HTA publishes high quality articles, books, essays, documents, historical photos, and links, screened for content, for a broad range of historical subjects. It was founded in 1990 in Mississippi and is one of the oldest history sites on the Internet. This site is dynamic with regular additions to its contents and its link collection.

Hey, this site is really good because it talks about the mateship and the experiances are still happening and is still real. Unfortunatly, this site is not an account or a quote from WW1 but an army man's experience in the war in Timor in 2000 and Afghanistan in 2008. However, this will be a great site to reference to about how the spirit is still relivant and embody today. Anna

The Economic History Association owns and operates the EH.net website and mailing lists to provide resources and promote communication among scholars in economic history and related fields. The Economic History Society (U.K.), the Business History Conference, and the Cliometric Society also support the site.

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) electronic reading room of the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) offers several primary source collections for the study of Central and Eastern Europe during and after the Cold War period. The FOIA Electronic Reading Room web site was established by the CIA "to provide the public with an overview of access to CIA information, including electronic access to previously released documents." Direct web access to the following collections is now possible: # The Soviet and Warsaw Pact Military Journals is a PDF collection of "sensitive Soviet and Warsaw Pact military journals from 1961 to 1984 providing a view into Warsaw Pact military strategy". # Preparing for Martial Law: Through the Eyes of Colonel Ryszard Kuklinski is "a captivating collection of over 75 documents concerning the planning and implementation martial law in Poland from mid-1980 to late 1981. The collection release coincided with a CIA symposium honouring Colonel Ryszard Kuklinski, a member of the Polish Army General Staff and the source of the documents."

The Margaret Thatcher Foundation's web site offers "free access to the full texts of thousands of documents relating to the politics of the last quarter of a century".

From 1893 to 1933, the Anti-Saloon League was a major force in American politics. Influencing the United States through the printed word and lobbying, it turned a moral crusade into a Constitutional amendment. The League left a legacy of printed material at a site bequeathed to the Westerville Public Library which houses the Anti-Saloon League Museum

Contains many useful tools and services for history teachers. There are online experts for tutoring and some good-quality sources. Looks like it's going to get even better. Some of the sites there look brilliant.

I had a lot of trouble understanding the ANZAC Legend and this website really helped me. It has lots of great information and it has other sections on the website about the Gallipoli Landing and the Campaign.

This web page was really helpful and gave really good but easy to understand information about ANZAC and WW1. I thought it was a really great resource to use.

This was a really fantastic site when it came to adding a conflict between the sources. This site has many sources that provide information on why we shouldn't celebrate Anzac Day. Really worth looking at!
