Confucius has proved to be the greatest influence over the Chinese character. Besides being a great educationist, thinker and unsuccessful politician, he was first of all an intellect with a noble morality. He pursued truth, kindness and perfection throughout his life and his success and failure were largely due to his character, which had an everlasting impact on Chinese intellect.

The British School at Rome Archive (BSR) thanks to the Getty Foundation, made freely available digital copies of the John Bryan Ward-Perkins photographic collection. These inventions impacted war in many ways, and one of them was the ground. Before cannons, there weren't any hole making weapons but when cannons came along the ground started getting big holes in it. When you fire a cannon ball and it hits the earth, it will explode, and when it explodes it will make a very big hole that will cause many things.

This is a really great website for anyone doing the Silk Road. It provides excellent detail about what was traded along the Silk Road and the problems the merchants faced while travelling along it. The website also explains that the Silk Road was much more than a trading route. Finally, the website explores how the Silk Road was developed and how the trade along it declined

The Great Wall of China was built by the ancient Chinese to keep out invaders from other parts of Asia. Emperor Shi Huangdi, Chinas's first Emperor, ordered that the building begin more than 2000 years ago. He wanted all the smaller walls that had been built earlier to be joined together to form one Great Wall.
