The BBC has overcome Microsoft's wish for iPlayer to be bundled with its paid Xbox Live Gold subscriptions. The catch-up TV service on Tuesday became the latest TV app to launch in the Xbox Dashboard's app initiative, for free with no subscription requirement (announcement). Although the BBC has become reluctant to custom-build iPlayer apps for the burgeoning number of new devices, Xbox Kinect's TV interface represents a sufficiently interesting new opportunity.

Their solution - to let merchants collect low volume purchases until a limit is reached, then process one bundled transaction, is one I suggested in my Reflecteur series.  Just sayin.

To promote the launch of Avatar Kinect and Kinect Sparkler this week, Microsoft has partnered with six comedians who will use Avatar Connect to create 90 second videos. Each of the videos will be posted on the brand's Facebook page where visitors will be invited to vote for their favorite comedian and be entered into a drawing for a chance to win an Xbox and Kinect bundle.
