Ca a l'air d'être assez compliqué à installer: Textclouds needs a Moodle installation on Apache2 and PHP 5.1.3 or above. In order to work properly, TextClouds needs two external applications to be installed on the server system: -> pdftotext (commonly installed by default on almost all major linux distros) -> unoconv (easily installable via repos in CentOS5/RHEL5 and Ubuntu, needs OpenOffice 3.0 installed, which will be installed by dependency) -> native PHP zip extension For better results add paths of executables inside PATH environment variable, or set paths in file soffice_config.php. IMPORTANT!!! You have to start manually OpenOffice in socket mode. To do this, type in terminal soffice -headless -accept='socket,host=127.0.0.1,port=8100;urp;' -nofirststartwizard You can change host and port, but remember to change them also in soffice_config.php

Pour la publication : code pour embarquer la vidéo sur votre site, notification mail ou un truc avec votre téléphone qui n'a pas fonctionné chez moi ! :-(

James Chan, a developer at Mass Media alerted us recently that mBook 1.1 has been released into the app store [http://mbooks.hk], which doubles as a support and development site]. mBook provides a fully immersive Moodle experience for the iPad [iTunes store link]. According to the store page, the app provides a fresh approach to displaying Moodle on an iPad and supports the most Moodle activities and resources compared to any app for iOS in the iTunes app store. mBook supports multiple languages (currently 5), has been tested with all of the standard Moodle activities (omitting flash based resources such as found in some SCORM packages presumably) and certainly looks promising...

Framed on a main project we called "moodle4kids" (or "space4kids") this plugin includes a new button in your tinyMCE that puts together the modules "storytelling" and "gallery4kids". This module does nothing by itself: While "storytelling" activity module allows kids to write an story with tinyMCE, and "Gallery4kids" activity module allows kids to store media resources, "s4kall" join both tools letting kids write stories that could include multimedia resources. This function will convert moodle in a kind of "children's social network" to share and comment their digital creations (text, video, audio, images...) with other users with similar interests.

Ralph Blackwelder (@webyer) has a really interesting video on Youtube that highlights his use of Digsby's (a free chat utility/web service) Widget in an HTML block (http://widget.digsby.com/) which he employs instead of the Moodle chat. By doing so it allows him to provide students a simple easy way to connect with him anytime he's online at one of his computers (he doesn't have to be logged into Moodle with the chat open). The widget in his classroom lets students know whether or not he's online (and provides 1-click chatting). Pretty slick.

Passé un peu inaperçu dans la longue liste des agrégateurs de réseaux sociaux, Digsby. Gmail, FB, Twitter, MS Live, Yahoo, AOL/AIM, MySpace, Compte ICQ, LinkEd, Jabber et n'importe quel compte mail en POP ou Imap. Vraiment intéressant. Seul hic, des rappels à visées commerciales un peu trop souvent, un software (multiplateforme) à installer en local (attention lors de l'installation, vous n'êtes pas obligé d'accepter l'installation des logiciels tiers).
