Article addresses the idea that while young people may know how to use a piece of technology that doesn't mean that they have a deeper understanding of how the technology works and/or "...could be effectively using technology to better their lives through a job, start something, or undertake further studies."

This is a free online resource from the Museum of the Moving Image, with more than 300 commercials, from every presidential election since 1952 It includes lessons for teachers and links to other online resources.

Great site for teaching about the election process but about media and digital literacy as well.

Post about snapguide which "...is a website, but it's also an app, and the app makes it really easy to take pictures or video of steps in a process and integrate them into a guide."

This could be a really useful site to use with classes.

"a visual search engine that displays results in 4 grids which give webpage previews. The entire page is visible in preview instead of just a list of results with links and summaries. Oolone can be used for standard website search, for image search, or news search.

This search engine is so visual it may be very helpful for some students. Check it out.

Article on using the NYT as a source for informational text. Many good ideas about incorporating the Times into the class.
