These pages hope to provide tools to assist people in learning and using the beautiful Chinese language. From the novice Chinese language student to the advanced programmer, I hope there is something here for everyone. Rather than being a Chinese language course, it provides tools to people who are already studying and using Chinese. Chinese radio stations online. There are many to choose from--including Chinese news (in English and Chinese), and popular music. Stations can be chosen through individual Chinese cities, too.

There are free, interactive online Cantonese lessons, Mandarin lessons, and Chinese character lessons. There are also comments on Chinese culture, and links to other Chinese resources.

Simple Mandarin can be learned phonetically in English, and the Chinese characters are also given at the end. It seems quite simple, and put together in a way that's easy to understand.

The International Corpus of Learner English (Version 2) is a corpus of writing by higher intermediate to advanced learners of English. It contains 3.7 million words of EFL writing from learners representing 16 different mother tongue backgrounds (Bulgarian, Chinese, Czech, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Tswana). It differs from the first version published in 2002 not only by its increased size and range of learner populations, but also by its interface, which contains two new functionalities: built-in concordancer allowing users to search for word forms, lemmas and/or part-of-speech tags and breakdown of the query results according to the learner profile information.

The Generation 1.5 project was launched in 2006 by a small group of researchers at the University of Michigan (U-M) English Language Institute (ELI). We are collecting texts from writers who are just starting their academic careers at the university, specifically 1st and 2nd year undergraduates, who speak a variety of Korean or Chinese at home. Ultimately, the aim of this data collection is to provide an empirical basis for developing recommendations for writing/language instruction specialized for the Generation 1.5 group.

The PolyU Language Bank, developed in the Department of English at Hong Kong PolyU, is a large archive of language corpora made up of a wide range of written and spoken texts totalling over 12 million words. Corpus searches can be performed using the Bank's built-in Web-based concordancer, enabling the easy use of corpus resources for language teaching and research.

Open source dictionary project, including stroke animations, audio, character information, and more.

This installer will install a custom designed keyboard for use in English with additional support for inputting characters for Hungarian, Indic Transcription, and Pinyin input. It is based on the US - International layout provided by Windows, which also allows for easy input of accented characters used in many European languages.
