Olgunluk sınavı ve genel lise kapsamında branşlaşma gibi konular gerçekten yapılması gereken önemli reformlar lakin meslek liselerinin önemi ülkemizin gelişmekte olmasından dolayı hala anlaşılamamıştır. Eğitim Reformu Girişiminin çıkardığı raporları fırsat buldukça takip ederim ama "Barajın altında kalan öğrenci ise meslek liselerine yönlendirilecek. " ibaresini kavramış değilim. Hayır puanı düşüklerin yeri değildir o okullar. O okullar ben arabalarla uğraşacağım ben kuaför olmak istiyorum, marangozluk yapmak istiyorum diyen bireylerin kendini yetiştirecekleri yerlerdir. Meslek liseleri düşük puan alanların gitmek zorunda oldukları ara eleman değil nitelikli eleman yetiştiren Eğitim kurumları olmalıdır.

Sinem, benim de dusuncelerimi cok guzel ifade etmissin. Ben sansli bir meslek lisesi mezunu olarak, zamanin en guzel mesleki egitimini almistim okudugum okulun bilgisayar bolumunde. Meslek liseleri kisinin kendini her anlamda gelistirebilecegi, mesleki "craft" egitimini alabilecegi ve ozellikle en etkili "yaparak ogrenme" modellerinin uygulanabilecegi ortamlar olarak gorulmeli.

Sinem, ben de meslek lisesi mezunu olarak hocama katılıyorum. Öğrencilerin ileride yapmak istedikleri mesleklerle ilgili lisede ön bilgileri edinmiş olmaları gerekiyor. Ben de lisede bilgisayar bölümündeydim, fakat o zamanki katsayı uygulamasından dolayı bilgisayar ile ilgili sadece bilgisayar öğretmenliğini seçme hakkımız vardı. Bir nevi bizim şu an savunduğumuz "kişi ön bilgileri lisede almalıdır" mantığını biraz eksik bir biçimde, kişiyi bilgisayarla ilgili tek bir bölüme yönlendirerek uyguluyorlardı. Lisede elektronik, devreler, entegreler, boolean matematiği alan kişiler tek bir bölüme yönlendirilirken, bilgisayar dünyasıyla pek haşır neşir olmayan birisi polinom fonksiyon havuz problemleri eşliğinde bilgisayar mühendisliğine kayıt yaptırabiliyordu. Meslek liselerinin bu şekilde değersizleştirilmesiyle birlikte, o okulda okuyanlar okulun ilk gününden itibaren hem kişisel hem de toplumsal baskı hissedebiliyorlardı. Fakat meslek liselerini daha kaliteli hale getirmek de maddi anlamda desteği gerektiriyor. Çünkü araçlar pahalı ve piyasa ihtiyaçlarından dolayı sürekli güncellenmeleri gerekiyor. Ayrıca son zamanlardaki bilgi sirkülasyonu meslek liselerinde okuyanlar dahil kendini yenileyebilen, piyasa ihtiyaçlarına göre kendini geliştirebilen ve değiştirebilen "yaşam boyu öğrenici" lere ihtiyaç duymaya başladı. Bu da meslek liselerinin işleyişini değiştirmeli. Sadece meslek liselerinin sunduğu belli başlı yetilere sahip, yine sadece belli başlı makineleri ya da araçları kullanmayı bilen iş gücü artık piyasaya yetmiyor, bu kişiler yaşam boyu öğreniciler olmazlarsa bir süre sonra iş gücünün dışında kalıyorlar. On another list run by METU itself, URAP, METU comes 489th in 2012 listing, not URAP but for THE having so much impact on worldwide scale I'm not sure how free it is from political influence.

Bilge, thank you for the post. That was nice to read. However, I wonder if there were no ideas about how to make classrooms have fun or what is "student centered" instruction. The article says, "Öğretmenler önce birbirleriyle iletişim kurmayı, köşe kapmacadan afiş hazırlamaya kadar pek çok etkinlikle öğrenmenin aşamalarını, çocukların özelliklerini, dersi öğrenci merkezli anlatmayı öğreniyor." I want to say "they remind" not "they learn" since I don't think that the teacher does not know what student centered instruction is, or how to colourize lectures. Let's say I hope.

I wanted to share a very useful video website we can use in our classrooms. Very simple, colourful and enyoyable videos are found to use with students.

Canan, thanks for sharing. Recently I have been roaming on EBA (eğitim bilişim ağı) web site for FATİH project, and I realized that we really need such platforms with Turkish language. Also you can have a short look at what they are doing for FATİH project. I will post the link.

The link to the pool that has been prepared for technology based educational materials for FATİH project. In this pool, teachers and students can send several educational materials that they created or they were using in classroom environment. They aim to extend the content with contributions of people who are actively in education in Turkey. However, it is obvious that the project needs professional e-content materials. Videos, pdf's are ok but multimedia based tools are needed.

Erdem, I wonder if there is any section on the website that include resources/guidelines for teachers. E.g. how to integrate those simulations in the classrooms.

Canan, I hope it will help, thank you, Hocam, there are just materials in the pool. I downloaded 10th grade math teacher guidelines released by Ministry of Education and started to read some sections. I saw that they offer recommendations like "using a dynamic math software, students do...". However, I don't know if they will handle the learning and usage of such software in in-service trainings. I wish I could bring more information about the system but they have not answered my CV and my sample work yet,

The previous policy, when students required to wear school uniform, was still unsuccesful since students' shoes or shirts(gömlek) made difference among social classes of students. The new policy will increase this gap. Although wearing a school uniform seems to similarize students psychologically, this negative aspect can be ignored when the danger of social class imposition is considered. In my opinion, instead of requiring parents to buy school uniform theirselves, school boards should provide them with shoes also, just as they provide school books. While this will reduce class differention, the gap still can not be closed completely since students, for example, will buy different foods in line with their allowance. However, decreasing gap as much as possible is stilll more valuable than free clothes permission.

Educators, instructors,teachers are force being passive to actively enroll in education system of Turkey. Sometimes I think that there is no any other option than writing your thoughts. Doing, implementing, creating, producing sth are not your actions any more, or am I so pessimistic lately?
