According to a report by TechCrunch, Apple completed 15 acquisitions, of which eight are currently known to the public. This is not a surprising move for the company, which is highly interested in acquiring smaller companies who have been developing specific skills or technologies that Apple can turn around and implement in future product lines.

The first, Arc90, is the maker of the Readability app, one of the many read-it-later services available for computers and mobile devices. The second, Fame House, is a marketing agency that specializes in digital technology. The third, Tunezy, is a music commerce platform that seeks to personalize the way in which people interact with their favorite songs and artists.

Once upon a time, developing software was as easy and efficient as a day at the DMV. In the early 1960s, it took an entire room full of men at IBM with the same crew-cut hair, white shirts, thin black ties, and thick dark rimmed glassed an entire day to input two dozen lines of archaic code into a form reader.

According to a report by TechCrunch, PROS has acquired Cameleon for an all-cash deal of $33 million. The deal has been approved by Cameleon's shareholders and awaits a final verdict from regulators.

Deloitte has continued its flurry of recent moves with two technology acquisitions - NXG, a provider of SAP solutions, and Quattro, a customer relations management software company. Both businesses are based in Australia. The acquisitions are expected to be finalized by November 1. Deloitte did not announce the financial terms of either agreement.

The union itself is something to be celebrated, but so are the unique characteristics of each business. Facebook announced that it purchased Onavo, which is a mobile app business that also helps people cut cellular phone costs through more efficient use of data. According to Reuters, the technology acquisition will help Facebook provide internet access to underserved communities. Mainly, this will be done by Onavo's technology reducing the amount of data downloads required to run mobile internet applications.
