Canada's first $100 polymer note was officially in circulation as of November 14. The official unveiling happened at the MaRS Centre with the Bank of Canada's governor, Mark Carney. 

According to May Jeong, reporter of Advisor.ca, "impact investment-is being recognized as the newest asset class on the financial block." The Centre for Impact Investing is designed to be the hub for all thing in social finance.

The Bank of Canada announced and circulated  the new $100 bill - Canada's first polymer bank note November 14, 2011 at the MaRS Centre. The event was held at the MaRS Centre, because it is Toronto's innovation hub.

Greg Meckback, Digital Media Editor from Daily Commercial News states "Toronto real estate developer Tridel is partnering with Cisco Systems Inc. to use Internet Protocol (IP) technology to improve energy efficiency, security and entertainment systems in its buildings....TowerLabs with Tridel co-founded with the MaRS Discovery District, is getting feedback from focus groups on devices such as programmable thermostats or the possibility of putting programmable thermostat functions on a portable electronic device such as Apple Inc.'s iPhone."

Winston is a Toronto company that is pitching a different way to operate the way people call for a taxi and limo through an app. The company Winston is working with MaRS Discovery District Advisors.

According to Nestor Arellano from IT Business, "The small business and tourism minister, who also heads Ottawa's Red Tape Reduction Commission, says the government has been in entrepreneurs' pockets and backs long enough." Maxime Bernier, Minister of State for Small Business and Tourism spoke at the Small Business 2011 conference at the MaRS Discovery District.

Ivor Tossell, Globe and Mail reporter discusses debate regarding governments investment in private companies. MaRS Discovery helps entrepreneurs prosper and foster and promote Canadian innovation.

Jay Somerset, Globe and Mail reporter states "McLuhan Program in Culture and Technology at the University of Toronto is hosting an international conference and DEW Line Festival exploring art, media and culture... November 5th." The article discusses how change is better conveyed through emotions within art rather than science. MaRS Discovery District is an innovation hub that promotes innovation in social innovation, cleantech, life sciences and health care, and in ICE.

Dani Reiss, President and Chief Executive Officer of Canada Goose Inc. is this year's Ontario Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® winner.  Dr. Ilse Treurnicht, Chief Executive Officer, MaRS Discovery District is on the panel of judges.

MaRS Discovery has a new exhibit called Insulin: Toronto's Gift to the World.The exhibit is a joint effort of the Faculty of Medicine, the MaRS Discovery commercialization initiative and the University Health Network, a group of U of T teaching hospitals.

The Action Canada Fellows will host a public dialogue in Winnipeg, MB on ideas for advancing Canada's economic future at the MaRS Centre.The dialogue will feature presentations from leaders in government, business and academia. Tom Rand, Senior Lead Advisor, Cleantech at MaRS Discovery District will be speaking at the event on November 4, 2011.

TCAG, based at The Hospital for Sick Children, located at the MaRS Centre has provided world-leading infrastructure support to over 1,600 labs worldwide. TCAG has received $5 million in funding.
