an interesting service that is best described as a collaborative search tool. The purpose of Search Team is to enable small teams to collaborate on finding the best information on the web. Here's how it works: sign into Search Team and enter the topic you're searching for, this becomes known as the "search space." The search space is where you will enter your search terms, refine searches, and save the best results. When you share your search space with others they can see what you've saved and what you've eliminated.

a nice map creation tool that allows you to quickly draw, type, and insert icons on a Google Map. Quikmaps is similar to Scribble Maps which I reviewed a couple of weeks ago. Quikmaps does offer one extra tool that Scribble Maps does not and that is the option to select from a huge gallery of icons to use on your map. Placing these icons is a simple matter of dragging and dropping elements. As you will see in the map I've embedded below, I placed a camera icon on Yellowstone National Park and wrote above it, "this is a good place to take pictures."

 free iOS app for creating videos on the go. The concept behind Videolicious is similar to that used by services like Animoto. Using Videolicious on your iPhone or iPad you can mix together images, video clips, music and your voice to create a short video. The user reviews of Videolicious are generally quite favorable, but there are some complaints that you have to turn on location services to use the app. Watch the video below to learn more about Videolicious (warning, the background music is annoying). 

Upload pictures, add word balloons, speech bubbles, and thought balloons, then export it. Once you've got a balloon photo done, you can email it to a friend or save to your hard drive as a JPEG. You never have to login or subscribe to anything.

The social curation community - Organize, discover and share the stuff you like. Very similar to Scoop.It in the actual activity, but quite different in the way that they are visualized. More like interconnected spokes showing links between different curated topics. Worth a visit

The 5th of May commemorates the 1862 victory of the Mexican army over French troops at the Battle of Puebla. These days it means having a great time with family and friends, maybe a pinata, and of course, lots of great Mexican food!

Iaza is a web-based image editor that offers lots of features in a simple to use interface. While many sites offer simple conversions from one file format to another and can do the basics of image editing (re-size, crop, rotate, etc.) Iaza also offers some basic animation tools as well and makes it very easy for teachers and students to create avatars for online websites or blogs.

The Werner Icking Music Archive contains a miscellany of subject-specific musical material. Click on the name of a subdirectory containing scores, sound files, typesetting source files, additional README-files etc., or follow the composer links to enjoy fully all of the Archive's possibilities. The icon  will direct you to score images, the icon  to short informative texts, the icon  to sound files, and the icon  leads you to PDF-files.
