Spaaze is a free online sticky note service that offers some handy functions for teachers and students. Spaaze allows you to write notes, edit notes and reorder your notes. Your notes can be simple text notes or you can create notes that contain videos, images, or links. Use the Spaaze browser bookmarklet to add a note to your collection anytime you come across an interesting find on the web. The video below gives a good overview of what can be done with Spaaze. Applications for Education Spaaze could be used by students as a personal organizer. Spaaze could be particularly useful for students who don't have their own computers and need to rely on computer labs in order to get work done online. By using Spaaze those students can create notes of what they need to do, what they have done, and create notes about the useful things they find while researching on the web.

a game and curriculum designed to educate preteen students about the forms and methods of advertising. Admongo's primary feature is a game in which students earn points by collecting advertisements as they move through a fictional city. As they advance through the game, students will see short videos that explain the type of advertisements they see and how those advertisements attempt to get them to take an action. Watch the video below to learn more. Applications for Education Admongo provides a curriculum for teachers to use with 5th and 6th grade students. The curriculum is designed to complement the lessons students learn by playing the game. On the Admongo curriculum page teachers will find posters, handouts, quizzes and other printable materials to use in their classrooms.

Almost everyone has heard of TED, but have you noticed TED's new website, TED ED?  Please do yourselves a favor and check out this amazing site that focuses on education.  Educators from around the world have uploaded complete lessons along with customizable quizzes and background research.  Lessons are also animated by a professional webmasters.  You can upload your own lessons as well.  Watch the tour video by clicking here!

I am also developing a site for pupils called www.MathsMaster.Org  . My plan is to develop a video tutorial for every topic on the secondary school curriculum (11-16 years). The site is very much in it's early days but lots of pupils are using it already. I'd be really interested in hearing your impressions of the site and please feel free to share it with your pupils!

Great place to spend a few minutes here and there watching videos to inspire your teaching. 

TED is famous for making widely available its incredible series of lectures  from its various conferences. They've taken these lectures a step further,  identifying TED talks that are particularly useful to classroom teachers  and enhancing them with additional animation.   

Following the Supreme Court's decision in Citizens United v F.E.C., the growth of Super PACs, and the influx of negative ads this campaign season, some Americans are concerned about the influence of money on our electoral system and our democracy itself. Others point out that wealthy individuals, corporations, and labor unions have always influenced politics and point to the loopholes of the 2002 Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act as the origin of unlimited contributions. Does money = speech, and do any restrictions on campaign contributions violate the First Amendment?  Does money unfairly influence our political process? In this election year, help your students understand and develop their own opinions about these campaign financing issues. Watch a variety of C-SPAN video clips explaining the varying sides, read articles with opposing viewpoints, complete associated activities, and engage students in classroom deliberations.
