The educational web site ProProfs.com has launched a free, easy-to-use quiz creation site that can help teachers enhance their lesson plans and engage students. Called Quiz Maker, the site is based on feedback from thousands of ProProfs users who shared their ideas for how ProProfs could improve on its Quiz School application.

TitanPad is essentially a clone of the original EtherPad. With TitanPad anyone can instantly create a collaborative document. You do not have to create an account to use TitanPad, in fact creating an account isn't even an option. To get started just click "create public pad," enter your name, and start typing. To invite people to collaborate, just share the url assigned to your TitanPad. Every collaborator on TitanPad is given a unique color to highlight the text they've added. Try it now on this document that I started. Applications for Education TitanPad could be used as a platform for quickly hosting and recording an online brainstorming session with your students. As accounts aren't necessary you won't lose any classroom time to getting students through a registration process.

"My StoryMaker lets you control characters and objects - and creates sentences for you! Once you are done with your story, you can print it out. You cannot go back and edit a story once you have ended it but, if you click "yes" when asked to share it with others, you can print it out again by entering the magic number it gives you in the box on the right. Since lack of space forces us to delete story files older than 1 month, please save the .pdf file that prints to your own computer."

I am also developing a site for pupils called www.MathsMaster.Org  . My plan is to develop a video tutorial for every topic on the secondary school curriculum (11-16 years). The site is very much in it's early days but lots of pupils are using it already. I'd be really interested in hearing your impressions of the site and please feel free to share it with your pupils! 

The social curation community - Organize, discover and share the stuff you like. Very similar to Scoop.It in the actual activity, but quite different in the way that they are visualized. More like interconnected spokes showing links between different curated topics. Worth a visit

an interesting service that is best described as a collaborative search tool. The purpose of Search Team is to enable small teams to collaborate on finding the best information on the web. Here's how it works: sign into Search Team and enter the topic you're searching for, this becomes known as the "search space." The search space is where you will enter your search terms, refine searches, and save the best results. When you share your search space with others they can see what you've saved and what you've eliminated.

A Web Whiteboard is a touch-friendly whiteboard app that lets you use your computer, tablet or smartphone to easily draw sketches, collaborate with others and share them with the world. This is an incredible tool for the classroom and it pushes the ability to have interaction that only whiteboards were offering to any student or teacher with a web connection.

Explore Cartoons Made by Children Across the Globe Designed in partnership with Stanford University's Graduate School of Education and Zeum: San Francisco's Children's Museum, Toontastic inspires the artist and writer in every child while teaching key storytelling principles that help to promote creativity at a young age. Toontastic's drawing tools bring children's wildest ideas to life alongside virtual playsets chock full of pirates, princesses, faraway galaxies and many other characters and settings to spark the imagination. Students' cartoons can be shared online via ToonTube, Toontastic's Global Storytelling Network, to help children connect to friends and family and learn about other cultures, customs and lifestyles through stories created by their peers around the world. The app is available for the iPad. Download it from the Apple iTunes App Store for $1.99. 

Almost everyone has heard of TED, but have you noticed TED's new website, TED ED?  Please do yourselves a favor and check out this amazing site that focuses on education.  Educators from around the world have uploaded complete lessons along with customizable quizzes and background research.  Lessons are also animated by a professional webmasters.  You can upload your own lessons as well.  Watch the tour video by clicking here!

TED is famous for making widely available its incredible series of lectures  from its various conferences. They've taken these lectures a step further,  identifying TED talks that are particularly useful to classroom teachers  and enhancing them with additional animation.
