    The No David! books are very popular among the younger students, so this is a character that they are already familiar with. By looking at a character that they all love, they can talk about what he does and does not do to become a good student.     This is a collection of activities that can be done on the first day of school - its like it's own pinterest board strictly for first day of school activities. The one that got my attention was the m&m game, because I have played this in class before. It is really fun and takes away some of the pressure of having to find an interesting fact about yourself.

    I loved this activity with the different questions and each student writes their answer to the question. I thought it was a great way to get students thinking about what they want to happen during the year and it makes them feel like they also have a say in how the class will go. Giving students a chance to recognize the right choices will help them to make them throughout the year.

    These are laminated cards that teachers put on a ring for students to keep on or in their desk during the beginning of school. If students forget the new classroom procedures they can reference these cards. I think it's a good way for students to be able to look for an answer, rather than always having to ask the teacher.

    This is a board or poster that tells the students how they are going to be working, whether it's independently, in groups, or individually. This will help keep consistency in the classroom because students will always know to look at the board if they want to know how they are working/ learning today. The colors help keep the poster organized and easy to read.

    A board that has a class calendar, as well as folder that contain the work from the day is a great way to keep the classroom organized, as well as make sure students are responsible for getting their own work. If students know where things are in the classroom, they don't always have to be asking the teacher. This board is a great idea!

Based on the reading of this chapter this book seems to have a lot of great tips, techniques, and strategies for teachers! This section talked about effective classroom management, and it specifically addresses things such as rules and routines. It's not the most colorful reading but very informational!
