Evaluating Informal Learning in the Workplace - 0 views

  •
Carliner says that Kirkpatrick doesn't work with informal learning (A Model for Measuring and Evaluating Informal Learning). He says that the Kirkpatrick's Four Level (reaction, learning, behavior, and results) model is more appropriate for formal training events rather than for an informal learning process over which the employer has no control.

The Next Generation Corporate eLearning Solution -Axonify | Learning that sticks. - 0 views

Case study at: http://www.learningsolutionsmag.com/articles/1206/the-gamification-of-retail-safety-and-loss-prevention-training "Pep Boys implemented Axonify. They rolled the platform out to the associates, who received daily reinforcement of the monthly safety and loss prevention training they received through a quiz-type game. (See Figures 1 and 2 for screen shots from the game.) Associates answered quick, targeted questions related to risk, loss prevention, safety, and operational policies and procedures-standard questions in these areas. If they answered correctly, they played a slot-machine game titled "Quiz to Win" for a chance to win cash prizes. If they answered incorrectly, the system immediately presented a short training piece designed to specifically address the topic covered in the initial question. Questions repeated at various intervals until the associate demonstrated mastery of the topic. The entire process takes 30-90 seconds each day and associates do it either at the beginning of a shift or during downtime throughout the day."

How to Manage Video by Stephen Haskin : Learning Solutions Magazine - 0 views

  •
Video clips are documents, but with an important difference: Most documents contain searchable content; video content itself isn't searchable. This raises the big question: How do you keep track of all that video your organization is starting to accumulate in your libraries? More importantly, if you've got lots of projects that incorporate video, how do you find and reuse video, so you're not spending the same video production money twice?
