Benefits for creating a classroom environment for student blogging begin with establishing a foundation for their success. Why is this important? Integrating blogs transforms a classroom into a learning community where students become self-directed learners and thinkers. This in turn, causes students to use higher order thinking skills as they create and post entries in their blogs, along with commenting on other student's blogs.

Great idea to use during live events. This year, during the TESOL conference, I blogged live by using the iPhone and writing on a post as I watched the presentation. Some friends said that the profited from it as they couldn't be there and I was sharing at the exact moment things were happening. Would love to hear from you if you try it any time soon.

Using a great social bookmarking sites list strategy in your blogging can be the difference between you blogging for profit or as a hobby. When I first got started using this strategy I was amazed by the results. People started to read my blog posts from around the World.

There are new web 2.0 tools appearing every day. Although some of these tools were not originally meant for use in the classroom, they can be extremely effective learning tools for today's technology geared students and their venturesome teachers. Many of these teachers are searching for the latest products and technologies to help them find easier and efficient ways to create productive learning in their students. More and more teachers are using blogs, podcasts and wikis, as another approach to teaching. I found this tool via Bamboo Project Blog this morning. It is really fun to put in the URL of your own blog and see what words you use most often.
