Learning Community Charter Schools Oroville-Chico

Access: Teachers and families can follow the group or create an account by simply Google searching the following diigo site: learning community charter. If you create and account and join the group, be sure to change your settings, so you are set to receive updates weekly, otherwise they will come individually. Teachers can have permission to post favorite sites, and if families have a link they would like to share, a teacher can add it or it can be forwarded through the site to a moderator/ owner. Please let Teresa or Barbara know if you would like a quick training on how to contribute your own favorite sites to the group. As much as we want to build shared resources for CCSS and our curriculum, if you would rather just bookmark this as a resource for ideas and not contribute... that is perfectly alright too. There is also a free iPad app for Diigo!

One of a teacher's most powerful tools is the relationships he/she builds with students. Those relationships allow teachers to motivate students while they (teachers) model and promote positive character attributes. While it is easy to say, "Build relationships," it is not always easy to do. One of the greatest challenges to teachers is carving out time for connections without sacrificing instructional minutes. To address the time issue, strategies for building relationships must be embeded in the instruction.
