Based on three disciplines, Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana, the student aspiring to master Japanese writing has a difficult task set before him. This is because Kanji, the core of Japanese writing, consists of tens of thousands of ideograms (or characters) each having its own meaning and each one corresponding to one word.
