Etihad Rail, formerly known as Union Railway, was established in June 2009 under Federal Law No. 2. It manages the development, operation, and construction of the United Arab Emirates national freight and passenger railway network. This railway project will be built in three phases to link the principal centers of population and industry of United Arab Emirates. It will connect UAE with Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain. It will definitely influence the economic growth and social development of UAE.
