Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi has come up with an alternative for its Class XII aspirants wanting admission to the institute but hasn't been able to clear the Joint entrance Examination (JEE). IIT-Delhi is to start with a short term course for students who haven't been able to clear the Class XII examinations but have an above 75 per cent merit.

Despite acknowledging the mistakes it made with the answer keys to this year's Joint Entrance Exam (Advanced), IIT has refused to bring about the necessary changes. As expected, the stand taken by the prestigious institution has drawn sharp criticism from different corners.

The recent change in the eligibility criteria of the IIT JEE has come bearing good news for many students. The IIT council's and HRD Ministry's joint decision has modified the IIT JEE Advanced eligibility criteria to top 20 percentile or 75 per cent marks in the CBSE Board exam, whichever is lower, rather than only top 20 percentile.

To make the highly competitive examination transparent and free from any potential controversy, the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) Unit has decided to allow candidates a chance to challenge their scanned OMR answer sheets in the event any discrepancy is noticed or suspected. The JEE Main results can now be questioned at a price of Rs. 1000/per question.
