Crooks and Liars = WHO 1: The company or group responsible for putting the information online. Do you recognize it? Is it a well respected source? Is it a biased source? What's their agenda or what are they trying to accomplish by having this online?

  • their twisted little minds,
  • Yep, that's the answer. MORE guns. Guns for everybody! Too many guns to count, just arm them all and let's see who's the last one standing.

This is a clear example of strong sarcasm. Again, suggests strong emotion, not measured objectivity.
  • unspeakably stupid

And here the author is name-calling. Again, not rational, but emotional.
  • NRA lunatics
  • twisted little minds

This is fairly insulting language, charged with emotion. It doesn't suggest a very objective viewpoint. Seems STRONGLY biased.
  • I picked up snippets of conversations here and there.

This is anecdotal evidence, and is heresay. The author doesn't even know the people who are speaking. That makes this evidence fairly weak.
  • Let's assume those teachers took some district-mandated gun safety course and carried a gun with them in the classroom -- an odious thoug

This is actually the presentation of a counter-argument. "People on the other side of the issue argue that if people with guns are required to take a gun safety course it will prepare them to handle a weapon in a crisis." Then he goes on to quote evidence refuting that counter-argument.
  • Salon's Alex Sietz-Wald

This is a WHO 3--that is, a source of WHO 2's information.
  • In 2009, ABC’s “20/20″ demonstrated the problem with a clever experiment.

This is also a WHO 3, but it's actually the source of another WHO 3's (Sietz-Ward's) evidence. It's factual, because it's based on an actual research study conducted by ABC News. That makes it stronger.
  • The truth, as difficult as it is to accept, is that it’s often impossible to stop a shooter no matter how many guns are present.

This statement corroborates (supports) the author's opinion nicely.
  • cites cases where highly trained police have reacted with a tragic result of shooting innocent bystanders instead of the perpetrator

Here WHO 2 tells us that, if we look at this WHO 3 source (Seitz-Wald's article), we'll get lots more corroborating evidence that's based on facts.
  • About karoli Card-carrying member of we, the people.

Who is she? What are her credentials? What does she know about guns in schools? Is she educated? Experienced? There's NO identifying information here. That's a REAL PROBLEM, and is the main reason why I WOULD NOT use this as a source for my research. HOWEVER, I WOULD find the Seitz-Wald article and use THAT as a resource if it were good enough.
