"The article focuses on the political unrest in East Timor, which started in April 2006 following the riots in Dili. The 2006 East Timor crisis started as a conflict between the elements of the military over discrimination within the military and expanded to general violence throughput the country. The fighting between pro-government troops and disaffected Falintil troops broke out in May 2006. The motives behind the fighting appear to be distribution of oil funds and poor organization of the Timorese Army and the police."
