Deb Henkes Keystone Tech Tips

I found this site while going through the QIAT digest. The discussion thread concerned sight word instruction for older students. One of the participants recommended this wiki as a place to look for resources. After examining it I thought there were enough different resources that it should be shared. Ohio has some pretty heavy duty high stakes testing so I think this site is pretty comprehensive in terms of llinking gen ed curriculum to instruction and assessment of students with disabilities.

This is the website for the Free Resources from the Net for (Special) Education session that I went to this morning. It has a ton of free stuff. Click on the "SoftwareFor.org" at the top. There is also a handout that should be posted on the Closing the Gap website. They ran out and I didn't get one. It listed the various sites.

This is a list of resources to many different sites with many being links to sources of pictures that might supplement Boardmaker, or be useful when you are away from the office and don't have a BM disk with you.

This is one of the resources from the March 2008 FCTD online discussion. Appears to be pretty comprehensive.

I cannot find who produces this site but I found the following citation on most of the subject area pages "Updated. Ready for 07-08 school year." I would consider the links found on each page to be supportive of student classroom activities, or do at home resources. Very comprehensive.

From Louden Public Schools VA, this A.T. team has won awards for their work with students, members of the team published the book The Practical (and fun) Guide to Assistive Technology in the Public Schools.

QIAT discussion thread: resources for science and social studies. This particular site is social studies.

A great student resource for creating graphs and charts.  Helps students communicate information visually through an easy to use, online tool.

There are many more products, for cost or free, on the PC side than on the Mac side, this blog is devoted to AT on Mac OS X. May be a resource for keeping current with new products and development on this platform.

Came across this website while reviewing links recommended during the QIAT discussion thread on sound files. When I looked at it I found that this blog addressed many more topics than sound files. It is a difficult site to explain but please take a look.

QIAT discussion thread: choosing switches. This resources is an actual tutorial about switch use, choosing switches, mounting switches etc.

Recent QIAT discussion thread: rubrics for tracking AT integration into the gen ed setting. This is one of the suggested links.

WIthing agency discussion: Finding time to locate all the potential resources. Vicki Davis is one of several bloggers who actually does this for us. Tools, thoughts, reflections cover the range from gen ed to special ed.
