"Many teachers have yet to fully embrace the potential for the Internet to transform the social studies curriculum. Whether your class is named History, Government, Civics, Economics or Psychology, there is a great wealth of material available online that will engage your students. We've assembled just a smattering of the best of it here."
"Cloud storage of files is one of my favorite aspects of the modern Internet. Cloud storage services make it easy to access all of my important files from any computer and most mobile devices. And for students cloud storage eliminates the I forgot my flashdrive excuse for not having an assignment ready for class.
The potential problem with cloud storage, and any other online service for that matter, is having your account compromised. One way to make it more difficult for your account to be compromised is to enable two-step authentication.
Two-step authentication for a Google account requires entering a verification code that Google sends to your cell phone. Click here for directions or watch this video to learn more."

using technology to enhance education doesn't mean that we should move classes totally online. Students need face-to-face social interaction, especially in the primary and middle school grades.
Gen Xers
The resources included videos for those who learned by more kinesthetic and auditory modalities, written newspaper reports for those who learned best by visual modalities, and even interactive websites for those with a more tactile and kinesthetic learning style.
Instead of showing the video in class, you might have them watch it on YouTube as a homework assignment.
have created in class using iBA. I'd like to share them with you for several reasons:
1. To enrich the resources and samples available
2. We're open to your feedback in order to improve the quality of these products
The one I'm sharing here with you was part of a Language Arts PBL in which students had to write a sequel to Lois Lowry's novel, the Giver. This was our first attempt to use iBA in the...

Dr. Lauire Curtis, KSU faculty... daughter-in-law is a 5th grade teacher. She loves science. This is her blog for her new class pet... a praying mantis, and now it is going to have babies. I think it is pretty clever and a way to integrate reading, writing, science....we have to think about this! I might send it to my students. The video is a bit gruesome...but probably very engaging for 5th graders! I still think it is a pretty neat idea to integrate technology.

"Have we learnt anything from the first 8 weeks of a 1:1 iPad trial?
The comments below are based on observation and conversation during recent feedback sessions. They serve to inform our training programme as we seek to enhance learning with the iPad.
Students
Use the device intuitively and are quick learners with new apps
Explore different avenues to find answers rather than ask the teacher
Want to find new ways to demonstrate knowledge
Take pride in their work as it is often shared with the group

"Blogging has really taken off in lots of schools already, but some schools have only just started theirs. As with anything, teachers are always looking for quick and simple ideas to help get their blog up and running. Here are some ideas to get your blog started."
This is my website containing a blog, projects completed in education classes, and links to people and websites that know what they're talking about. It's still a work in progress but it will slowly come to life!
"Creating & Reading on the iPad: PDF vs. ePub
A cart of 30 iPads showed up at my school the other day & I get to organized the deployment and classroom use, a daunting task. Prior to the 30 iPad cart, I have been working with teachers and students to use 4 iPads, primarily in two math classes. I have blogged about both ideas here and here.

"The 33 Digital Skills Every 21st Century Teacher should Have
Every single teacher is concerned about his/ her teaching practices and the skills involved in this process. How many times have you wondered about a better way to teach the same lesson you have delivered to an eariler class? How often have you used technology to engage your students and improve their learning ? These are some recurring questions we keep regurgitating each time our teaching skills are put to the test."
"There is an awful lot of hot air blown about accessing student work from "class sets" of iPads, via email, WebDAV, Dropbox etc etc. A little known and cool method is this… We all know that we can share via iTunes over USB to any Mac/PC with a recent version of iTunes."
