Peter Lourie is a present day explorer/archeologist who has his own website talking about his adventures. He also has a teachers page where he shares many of his lessons as well as experiences visiting and talking with students. This would be an excellent resource for elementary teachers to look at for a while. The man has been TONS of places that we all study in Elementary and Middle School.

I really got a kick out of Meet Me At The Corner, mostly because of the kid video reporters. The kid hosts take you on video tours of historic and cultural sites. I'm actually heading down this path with Kid's Eye View bloggers, like Adora Svitak, who posts frequently at the ERT. It really is a joy watching and listening to kids professionally sharing good quality material-using video. Physical Oceanography Distributed Active Archive Center has created their own interactive website using Google Earth.  You can minipulate the sea surface temperature, sea surface height, chlorophyll levels, and ocean wind speeds.

As you explore the various demographical information available, the country size will shift to indicate the data being depicted. This is a great for visual learners! With one quick glance you can see which country has the highest number in a specific area. When you hover your mouse over a country, you will get the country name and actual numbers.
