A growing chorus of voices argue that the internet is making us dumber. Web-connected laptops, smartphones and videogame consoles have all been cast as distracting brain mushers. But there's reason to believe some of the newest devices might not erode our minds. In fact, some scientists think they could even make us smarter.
Could the cleaner and more modern interfaces that we see on iPads, iPhones and Android smartphones better suit the way our minds were meant to work?

Welcome to Reedy Technologies. This site has been designed to provide technology resources to educators. Its focus is to assist teachers in the integration of technology across the curriculum.
Grade Level Resources
This area has been divided into grade specific sections. Each grade level has general resources at the top for all subject areas and then subject specific resources below that section.
Teacher Resources
This area contains resources specifically for the classroom such as lesson plans, units, rubrics, worksheets, virtual field trips, and internet tools for the classroom.
Jennifer Wagner, creator of JenuineTech.com, has been succesfully encouraging teachers since 1999 to use technology seamlessly in their PreK-6 classrooms. Using the tools of the Internet (Web 2.0), Jennifer will help you understand how technology will help you make the most of your time in a variety of ways. Winning numerous awards for her creative ways in encouraging teachers to collaborate, her teaching style is very user friendly, creative, and personable.
As written on the post topic, you can expect to find on this upcoming list, services that don't require registration, nor download from any kind in order to use them. Tools that are really easy-to-use (most of them are single-page sites), and basically web-applications that can help on your daily internet visit/work.
To be honest, it is not so hard to create lists of web 2.0 services, especially if you own a blog or a directory that contains relevant content. BUT it is definitely not easy to isolate the most useful ones from hundreds of sites.
Technology Tip Number 2
Just Googling Around
The internet is big, really, really big, and if you want to use it effectively you have to be familiar with search engines.

Delicious Toolbox: 80+ Updated Tools and Resources
February 20th, 2009 | by Sean P. AuneView Comments
delicious-logoDelicious (Delicious), a powerful social bookmarking tool, has been around for what seems like forever, and while it may not get as much press as Digg (Digg), it still has an extremely active and loyal group of users. There are a number of tools out there that cater to these users, some of which still even stick by the old del.icio.us moniker.
Here are over 80 tools for everything from your mobile device to your blog, and more, that can help you view your bookmarks in new and unique ways, backup your bookmarks in a secure location, take your bookmarks with you on the go, blog about your most recent saves, and then some.
File-sharing is a complicated beast. Some files are too big to send in emails; some need to be seen by a lot of people; some need to be private; some should be public. There are a ton of different applications that want to be the host for all of your files, but drop.io stands ahead of the pack.
At its simplest, drop.io is a place to store files on the Internet. You create "drops" filled with files, photos, audio, video and more that you can share with other people. There's a 100MB limit on a given drop, but you can purchase more space if you want. Typically, though, 100MB is plenty- that's an awful lot of PDFs and Word documents.
Welcome to Radio-Locator, the most comprehensive radio station search engine on the internet. We have links to over 10,000 radio station web pages and over 2500 audio streams from radio stations in the U.S. and around the world.
The links on this page lead to hundreds of thousands of images. Each page of images is VERY large and will take a few moments to load .... even for the fastest of internet connections.
The current size of the image library is over 10GB! For a perspective, the average link on this site loads a web page that closely matches the size of the Old and New Testaments combined.
For the past month, I've been babbling about interesting web sites for kids and teachers at Vocalo.org (http://vocalo.org/), Chicago's first user-generated content radio station. It's an initiative of our local NPR affiliate and it broadcasts on the internet and at 89.5 if you're in the Chicago/Northern Indiana area. The station is a really interesting concept and I think a sign of the ways things will go with radio. Anyway, I thought I'd share 5 of my favorites from this series with you today. Enjoy!

GistWeb will give the gist of any web page's actual content. It's goal is to provide a "summary" version of any page, giving you the meat and discarding the fluff. This saves loads of time when doing research online.
To use GistWeb, drag this -> Gist It! Open) and click your GistWeb bookmark.
One last note: As a rule, GistWeb only works well on English documents. Using it on documents of any other language may produce low quality results.
