This project will mainly contain utility stuff for diverse purpose. Initially it will primarily comprise of Spring Utilities which will perform the following purposes: Load a single resource properties file from pre-configured locations with priority based override. Application context registrar to make the context available to other interested components. Use Cacheable Jersey Client Use a generic RESTful WS Client OpenSearchDescriptor JAX-RS Provider based on XOM based DOM I/O Useful utilities for Atom Syndication Feed, such as pagination over entities, retrieval of resource to certain depth, etc.

When creating a REST api with Java EE 6 and JAX-RS there comes the time when you start thinking about security. In our case we were trying to set up HTTP Basic Auth for the REST api to identify users and keep them from deleting other peoples stuff. Under the Hood The intricacies of the Ajax Push implementation are completely transparent to the ICEfaces developer, as you work with a straightforward set of APIs. It is, however, useful to understand the basic mechanics. Ajax Push in ICEfaces 2.0 leverages an asynchronous notification mechanism call ICEpush. Simply put, ICEpush uses long polling to provide asynchronous notification over standard HTTP, using only standard browser capabilities. YAML is a data serialization format designed for human readability and interaction with scripting languages. SnakeYAML is a YAML parser and emitter for the Java programming language. SnakeYAML features a complete YAML 1.1 parser. In particular, SnakeYAML can parse all examples from the specification. Unicode support including UTF-8/UTF-16 input/output. high-level API for serializing and deserializing native Java objects. support for all types from the YAML types repository. relatively sensible error messages.

Jettison is a collection of Java APIs (like STaX and DOM) which read and write JSON. This allows nearly transparent enablement of JSON based web services in services frameworks like CXF or XML serialization frameworks like XStream. There are currently two included conventions for mapping JSON to XML. The first, is BadgerFish which implements the full XML infoset in JSON using various techniques. The second, is called the "mapped" convention. It allows you to manually map XML namespaces to JSON element prefixes. Jettison was developed for usage in XFire and CXF to enable JSON based services. The Virgo Web Server from EclipseRT is a completely module-based Java application server that is designed to run enterprise Java applications and Spring-powered applications with a high degree of flexibility and reliability. It offers a simple yet comprehensive platform to develop, deploy, and service enterprise Java applications. The Virgo kernel supports the core concepts of Virgo and is not biased towards the web server, thus enabling other types of server to be created. The kernel can also be used stand-alone as a rich OSGi application platform. A server runtime can easily be constructed by deploying suitable bundles on top of the kernel.
