This story is newsworthy for two main reasons. First of all it correlates directly with our demographic: teenagers. Secondly, the issue takes place locally, creating more interest because the issue hits "closer to home" literally.

I think that this would be newsworthy because it is about to happen and a lot of teenagers have either iPhones or other Apple app devices. BBC News - Spire hoisted at One World Trade Center - 0 views

  •
This story is newsworthy because it marks an important step in the process of building One World Trade center. This would be relevant to teens because we have grown up in the aftermath of 9/11 and many people see the trade center being rebuilt when they go to new york or areas where you can see new york. Images that could be used for this would be student photos that they have taken (i have seen some) or government images of the building. Another photo that could be shown would be an image of the twin towers before 9/11 or ground zero.

Teenagers would find this interesting if they are nba basketball fans. Plus this is interesting, because Mark Jackson is a well known nba figure who was all time leader in scoring for many years, as well as an all star, and to see him coaching and getting fined during this heated play off battle can easily strike interest to sports fans at our school

  •
Why this would be interesting to teenagers is because there is some sort of form of violence involved, and teens find that to be entertaining and interesting. Plus it was a fight between a grown man, who is a manager for a little league team hitting a 17 year old umpire.

Why a Hunger Strike Might Change Everything at Guantánamo - 1 views

  •
"The U.S. Navy sent 40 medics to Guantánamo on Monday in reaction to a huge hunger strike that is taking place there now. The medics put rubber tubes into the strikers' noses, force-feeding them nutritional supplements so they wouldn't starve to death - a move the U.N. is calling torture."
