"Two years ago today, I wrote a post about how I was going to use my iPad in the classroom. It was simply titled "Using My iPad in the Classroom This Year". To my surprise, it is my most visited post of all time with over 37,000 page views. That is about 20,000 more than my second most read post. In a world with spell check, why is studying spelling still important? It aids in reading. It helps cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters. Learning high-frequency sight words also has been shown to help with both reading and writing. Not only is the ability to spell necessary in most occupations, but a person also needs to be able to spell well in order to be able to communicate and take notes and directions. 

"The folks at Macroplant LLC felt that folks may like to handle files on their iPads more like they do on their computers so they have released Awesome Files. The Universal App lets you create folders, add and view files to those folders as well share with others."

"During the June and July 2012 sessions of the 3 day workshop "iPad Media Camp," I asked participants to post questions they had about our curriculum as well as related topics using a Google form. Instead of just answering questions in class, I created narrated slideshows using the iPad app "Explain Everything" and posted the videos to YouTube. This way these videos can be used in class (including upcoming sessions) as well as shared with others who couldn't attend in person. Below you'll find the questions addressed in each screencast video as well as the videos themselves."
