"Google just updated its iOS Google Search app (iTunes link). I have always preferred searching for Web content on the iPhone using Google's dedicated search app, compared to the search box built in to Safari. Now the experience is better. "
"Kikin has made a iPad browser that turns traditional search on its head. An iPhone version is due out later this month. But it doesn't want to be a search engine. And it doesn't want to be a browser.
The company's goal is to propagate the search technology it's been developing since 2008. The technology looks at a user's behavior and analyzes other words on the page to understand what search results are relevant. (See a more nerdy version of this explanation here). "
"There's a good chance that if you own an iPad, Google is your search engine of choice. The company has made some huge updates to its search interface this year, and has pushed a few more helpful tweaks today."
We Want Apps is a free iPad and iPhone app for discovering new apps for kids. I discovered We Want Apps on David Kapuler's blog and immediately gave it a try on my iPad. With We Want Apps installed on your iPad you can search for apps according to the age of your students, the platform (iPhone or iPad), and price (free or paid). After choosing your search criteria you will be given a list of apps. Click on an app in the search results list to read a detailed description of that app.
"Have you ever attempted an app search? It is a miserable experience, unless you already know what you are looking for, you are out of luck! Quixey changes all of that by powering app searches across multiple platforms (Android, Bada, BlackBerry, Chrome extensions, Chrome web apps, Facebook, Firefox add-ons, IE add-ons, iPad, iPhone, Mac, Symbian, Web, WebOS, Windows, Windows Mobile and Windows Phone)"
"Today while browsing @tonyvincent 's blog I noticed a cool tool that he was using to share his favorite IOS apps. Appsfire is a place for you to create a list of your favorite apps as well as find other apps that you may like. Appsfire also allows you to "Follow" a search term for updates in the future. You can also limit your search to free only apps. Another great feature of the site is the ability to share your "Device" on social networks. You can also add your device to your blog."
