New iPad tool for a better understanding of 'Color' | iGo With My iPad - 3 views

"The 'app' is more of a enhanced book application called Color Uncovered. It's purpose is to help you better understand everything about colors. How your eyes see colors, how your mind 'sees' colors, how colors play into the impact of a photo and ads. It is actually a very important subject for anyone that snaps a photo from time to time. As well, helpful to our creative and not so creative folks. It's a all-ages, everyone app… and it's free."

"With 'software in the cloud' service 'Dot ePub' you can convert any web page into an eBook making research on the iPad a snap. After you setup a 'magic bookmark' using the directions on the Dot ePub web site you can automatically convert any web page into a format that you can open in iBooks or any other eReader. From there you can group sources together onto a bookshelf, annotate, underline, and highlight. Dot ePub also automatically copies source citation information into the back of the book."

Avoiding "Unmitigated Disasters" - nashworld - 13 views

"After stumbling upon the article, "Switch to e-books was 'an unmitigated disaster,' says school principal," in my feed this past week, it occurred to me that there are increasingly predictable patterns surrounding stories of failed "innovation" in digital learning initiatives. Schools have been assigning computers to each child for some time now. And still, we continue to see stories like this in the media. In short: we can do better than this."
How to Create a QR to an iBook - Snapguide - 22 views

Here's a snapguide for how to create a QR code to an ibook. This would let you put a link in a slide or on a page that would immediately take one to an ibook. (You can do this for kindle books too but would just use the URL as you can't buy inside the Kindle app on the ipad because Amazon and Apple couldn't come to terms on Apple's cut. You can just go to the Amazon webpage for the kindle and when it opens in safari, a person can buy and download from there.)

"Studio Pango produces a bunch of iPad apps that children (pre-K through grade 2) are sure to love. Some of the apps are free and some of the apps require purchase. To get a sense of what the paid apps offer, try the free apps first. This morning I tried two of the free apps. I tried Pango Book 1 and Pango Playground for Kids."
