Kentaro Toyama, from Microsoft India, reminds us in this blog of the myths around ICT4D. He cites Tichenor et al., 1970: "Technology is multiplicative, not additive" For a summary refer to his powerpoint: http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/people/toyama/talks/2009%2011%2019%20Ten%20Myths%20of%20ICTD%20-%20Toyama.ppt

Free Distance-learning Masters in Communications for Development, Malmö Unive... - 0 views
-
The Communication for Development one-year master at Malmö University was launched in 2000. It was - and remains - a pioneer project, breaking new ground regarding not only content but also form of study - distance learning on the Internet, with an emphasis on group interaction and peers' collaboration, embracing the web's potential for shrinking costs, broadening reach and eradicating distance. More than a hundred students from all over the world have so far graduated, after having done their field work projects in more than 20 countries, from Peru to Fiji and from South Africa to Sweden. Another 80 to 100 are actively engaged in the current courses. As a new student, you will of course benefit greatly from their experiences. But you will still be at the forefront of a pioneering process, which is gaining momentum every year. If you feel like engaging professionally in social change and development processes, internationally or 'at home', this may be your ticket of entrance. But even if you "only" want to widen your perspectives as a professional in the culture and media sector, ComDev will offer an unsurpassed way to deepened understanding of what is going on in the world!
