Midcap and smallcap stocks have selling pressure. BSE midcap index fell 0.25 percent and smallcap index weakened by 0.5 percent. Banking, IT and metal stocks have selling trend. BSE's banking and IT has declined by 1 percent. Capital goods stocks have buying trend. Sensex fell 241 points or 0.9 per cent and is trading at 27871. Nifty fell 61 points or 0.7 percent and is trading at 8470.

The market seems to be sulking without any major trigger to uplift sentiments. At 11 am, the Sensex fell 44 points to 25,864 and Nifty 17 points down to the level 7730 . However, Midcap and Smallcap stocks have 0.4 - 0.8 per cent growth. Bank shares have broken nearly 1 per cent. Metal, consumer durables, healthcare stocks are 0.2 per cent weaker. FMCG stocks are dull. Capital Goods, Power, Consumer durables stocks have 1.25 to 1 per cent growth. Realty and IT stocks are 0.5 per cent stronger.There is an light edge in technology stocks.
