#1 South Texas Pro Bono Asylum Representation Project (ProBAR) Phone: 956-425-9231 Email: probar@abaprobar.org ProBAR is part of the American Bar Association.

#2 Refugee Aid Project RAICES 800-409-2893. RAICES may not be appropriate for folks detained at El Paso, OCPC, or Sierra Blanca, but probably good to know about anyway. RAICES provides free immigration representation, in some cases, for people who are: A) Residents of the City of San Antonio, B) Currently detained by ICE in Pearsall, C) criminal custody at Bexar County Jail or the Central Magistrate, D) Have a household income under 200% of the federal poverty guidelines, and E) Are not currently represented by another immigration attorney.

#3) Lauren Aronson is a lawyer at the LSU law school. I don't know her, but someone once posted her name on the FFI list as a point of contact for the 5th Circuit. Her number is 310-903-0001.

#4) National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC), the Chicago group 312-660-1370. They are not specific to the 5th Circuit, but have made visits to OCPC and offered at least pro se assistance to some individuals.
If anyone knows other sources, post them as a comment to this thread and I'll add them to the list.
