I just came across this collection of fun photo adapting tools and thought this one that enables you to create a 'Wanted' poster from your own image could be a useful one to use with students or on teacher training courses.

VocabGrabber analyzes any text you're interested in, generating lists of the most useful vocabulary words and showing you how those words are used in context. Just copy text from a document and paste it into the box, and then click on the "Grab Vocabulary!" button. VocabGrabber will automatically create a list of vocabulary from your text, which you can then sort, filter, and save.

The interface is intuitive, it loads fast, and there are many, many different story elements that can be brought into each book. It would probably help for a teacher (and students!) to go through the tool in advance to see what elements they want to include, to make sure they have what they need. From there, simple storyboarding in advance should be all that's needed to develop a high quality, PRINTABLE, finished book!
